Sunday Blessings: A Vibrant Fellowship and Thanksgiving with My BCBP Family ❤️

On a bright Sunday, November 5, 2023, I found myself surrounded by the warmth of fellowship and gratitude with my BCBP family in Cebu. The day was sunny and full of life, a complete opposite of the weather I faced on my journey back. Returning a day early turned out to be a good call – the port and the ship were less crowded on Saturday, adding a little extra sunshine to my trip. ☺️

Our day began with a heartfelt praise and worship session, where we all sang songs to thank the Lord for his greatness. After the soul-soothing tunes, we took a moment for prayers and petitions, sharing our thoughts and needs with one another and our faith. It felt like a comforting embrace, knowing we were all connected through our shared beliefs.

The fellowship took a fun turn as we reintroduced ourselves to reinforce the bonds within our unit. Laughter filled the air as we played short games, revealing secrets within our groups. Split into fours, we shared our funny and sometimes surprising secrets, making guesses about each other. It was like uncovering hidden treasures, and everyone enjoyed the guessing game.

Amid the joy, we got down to business – preparing for the upcoming Christmas party. Despite my lack of singing and dancing skills, I enthusiastically joined in the practice for our Broadway musical presentation. The spirit of fun overtook any worries about getting the steps right; after all, it was all for the joy of the upcoming Christmas celebration.

The tantalizing smell of lechon signaled the start of our early dinner, and excitement reached its peak. Our Thanksgiving feast was a true display of unity and generosity. Each member brought something to share, creating a delicious spread that included paella, pancit, chicken, beef steak, shrimp, pizza, cakes, cookies, unripe mango with bagoong, and so much more.

The atmosphere buzzed with happiness as we dug into the scrumptious offerings. We swapped stories, shared laughter, and enjoyed the delightful company of one another. It wasn't just a meal; it was a communal celebration, a time to express gratitude for the simple joys of life.

This Sunday date with my BCBP family wasn't just about the fellowship or the food; it was about weaving connections, creating memories that would stay with us until our next gathering. In those moments of togetherness, we found a sense of belonging, a family away from family. It was a day filled with joy, laughter, and a reminder that life's sweetest moments are often found in the company of those we cherish. 💖🙏🎉
