Creating Art With AI As A Writer

This tool could be a great aid for generating unique header images.

Last week I came across a post on Hive in which the author was talking about using AI to generate an NFT collection. I’m sorry to say I’ve forgotten the author’s name so I can't give him credit for inspiring today’s post.

In his post he provided a link to a website that can be used for AI generated art work either from an image or from text input. As I so often do, I did a right-click and opened the link in my browser and then carried on with what I was doing.

I was browsing through my tabs this morning with one in mind that I wanted to write on today and as I scrolled past the AI Generator the squirrel in me decided to stop there and check out the nuggets available.

The site is called Night Cafe Studio. You get five free credits each day to use or you can buy credits if you want to use it more. The finished size of the image you want to download makes a difference how many credits you use I noticed.

The images can be generated using an image and then selecting from other images as the style. Or they can be generated from text. The header image on this post was created using the title text and a candy style.

I decided to play using an image of Hobo I used in my coffee cup post from last week.

There are many style images you can choose from. I tried two versions.

Here's one, the style is on the left and the generated image on the right:

Here's another, the style is on the left and the generated image on the right:

Then I decided to have some fun using the text “Hobo cat in repose”. It was interesting to see the images produced based on the styles selected.

Here’s an oil painting style:

Here’s a cyberpunk style:

As a writer who is always looking to use header images that are as unique as possible for my posts, I think this could be a great tool.

Mind you, the image generated for the header on this post certainly didn’t say “creating with AI” but it is eye catching. That’s part of the challenge, getting the browser to pause long enough to at least read the headline and subtitle.

I’ve not created NFTs to even comment on the original suggestion of using this AI generator for NFT collections but with the variety I was able generate here, it makes total sense.

NOTES:

  1. This is day 3 of 30 in the #HiveBloPoMo Challenge for April.
  2. Images are mine

Oh WoW! Amazing AI Generative Art.😍
This reminds me of another website that I tried for Generaive Art https://deepdreamgenerator.com/, this gives some nice results too. Try this too.

Have you tried Artbreeder? That one can be addictive 😂This looks interesting too, despite the limits :)

Interesting. I like the idea of taking an original photo to create a unique NFT-esque work of art.

Yeah, can make an interesting go to when wanting something different for a header image on a post. Sometimes I'll mash images into a new image and/or add text.
