Wednesday Walking at Forest Hills

For this week's #wednesdaywalk, as hosted by @tattoodjay, I crawled out of bed and braved the fog. I headed back toward the bluff I like to walk up in the morning; unfortunately, the dawn was too dark to get anything proper on the trails. However, on the way back from the bluff, the sun slowly began to creep up from the East and provide some light to a public golf course below.

Years ago this golf course was a private affair; despite being nestled along the city’s bluff line and within a short distance from the town’s population, the public was not permitted access. However, some twenty years ago, the city pushed a referendum to convert the course into a public course, and the city voted overwhelmingly to de-privatize it. Long story short, anyone can now visit this beautiful course at any time (tee times might be required, however!)

I didn’t opt to shoot a round; instead, I hung along the outskirts of the course to enjoy the dense fog. And shoot some photographs too, of course!

As a trail rolled by in the fog, it allowed me take a few extra moments to enjoy the morning. Cool air, fog, autumn in the air…the smell was dense and watery. The clothes and hair were damp, too. This is my favorite time in this area of Wisconsin…late August and early September. The transition time…a very fantastic time.

What a thick fog it was! It's really cool to experience and walk along the area with such fog in the early morning. Thus, do some jogging and take photos. Just perfect for the Wednesday walk.

It's good that it turned into public so that the town's people can come anytime and enjoy the scene.

I like seeing fogs but I can't dare myself to walk into it. I'll surely tremble in coldness. Such a great scenery, tho.

This golf course becomes a fascinating and mysterious place when it has that foggy weather 😮 I think it's perfect for playing hide and seek 🤣. Beautiful pictures, I really liked the place. 🤩🙌👊
