Wednesday Walking Along the Mississippi
For this week's #wednesdaywalk, as hosted by @tattoodjay, I took a stroll near the Mississippi River to blow off some steam. Long story short, it was a rough day at work. Thank goodness I could drive to the nearby river to take in the scenes.
There is a paved bike path that was put up over this backwater channel a few years ago. The few views from the bridge can give one an idea of the area.
Fortunately, there is a little trail that leads off the path and to better views of the area.
I found a few items of interest as usual; more allergy problems, too.
The area is still very green and full of life. There was a heron out on the river that I wasn't able to catch with my phone camera. As usual, it's one of those moments where I wish I had the proper camera to take photographs.
Despite the lack of cameras, it still was a good walk to get away for lunch. As much fun as work can be, it's good to get a bit of sunshine and fresh air in while I still can. I know it's only August, but winter really isn't that far off!
Thanks, as always, for stopping by to take a look at the scenes I'm fortunate enough to share. Next time, I might actually remember to bring the Canon. The water birds are still in the area...I better hurry before they start to migrate away in the coming months.
Nothing better than nature to decompress after a rough day at work. Glad you got out for a walk and shared it with us. Thank you.
I agree - the river is always amazing to visit when things get stressful
Nothing beats nature when you want to have some peace of mind. If I was there, I'll probably bring a picnic cloth and place it under the shade of the tree, stare in the river and fall asleep without knowing it. The kind of peace to cool down. ☺️
That sounds wonderful! If only I didn't have work !
what a perfect spot to walk relax and unwind after a stressful day so beautiful there
Thanks for joining Wednesday Walk :), I truly enjoy exploring the world virtually each Wednesday seeing walks from all around the globe and feeling I am there and experiencing it all myself, such as I did in your post just now :)
Lots of beautiful green for sure - not quite an ocean, but it still works!
