Views of the Driftless Region : Nº II
With all the winter weather in the area, and with temperatures starting to drop in a hurry, I hit the river shores to get some photos in. The #driftlessregion never ceases to amaze me.
The river is starting to freeze up, despite the main channels' current. In a week or two, the ice fishing will be in all full force...more photos to take soon enough.
Life still goes on, though, as evident by the beaver dams scattered about.
It's not quite the Rocky Mountains or anything as amazing out West, but it is quite old. The Driftless Region is an area that geologically is pristine, as it was untouched by the last glacier bulldozers through North America thousands of years ago. I always enjoy taking our daughter out to take in the views...and they are always amazing.
Thanks for checking out my share of the area. More will most certainly follow!
Wow, that first image is powerful. It reminds me of the scenery used in some older movies. Shot like a professional. Well-done! 😊
