Monomad Challenge : Hanging Out on Front Street
My entry for the #monomad challenge.
Front Street, in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is filled with history. Speakeasies, saloons, brothels, riverboats, gun fights, knife fights, riots...you name it, and this street has seen it all during its inception in the mid 1850's. Knowing all of that history, it is an area that continues to attract me to it.
The nostalgia of historic buildings along the Mississippi River may be long gone, but some folks appreciate the actual area yet (myself included!) And, us romantic souls find the current buildings in place fascinating...what stories were had on these sacred grounds that these modern buildings currently stand upon?
The imagination of it all is something to consider, especially when wandering about this part of town at night. I took these photographs with my Fujilfilm x100v at night. No ghosts of the past were seen, but there was a shadow always lurking about...
Thanks for checking out my #monomad share for this week!
