Monomad Challenge : A Block of Steel
My entry for the #monomad challenge.
I went in to the office early Sunday morning to get some things to work on at home. I couldn't sleep Sunday morning, so rather than lie in bed restless, I drove in to work to enjoy the morning.
Outside of my office there was a large chunk of rusted metal sitting in the morning sun. I grabbed my phone and took a few photos of the object from various angles.
Once a few photos were in, I grabbed my work and headed home. I didn't want to overanalyze the scene, so I went with my gut instinct and grabbed a few photographs. It's amazing what the texture of corroded steel looks like in the May sun...I think the black and white editing helps bring that out.
Thanks for stopping by to take a look at my work!

5 years this has been happening to me, it started here, around people that are still here. Homeland security has done nothing at all, they are not here to protect us. Dont we pay them to stop shit like this? The NSA, CIA, FBI, Police and our Government has done nothing. Just like they did with the Havana Syndrome, nothing. Patriot Act my ass. The American government is completely incompetent. The NSA should be taken over by the military and contained Immediately for investigation. I bet we can get to the sources of V2K and RNM then. https://peakd.com/gangstalking/@acousticpulses/electronic-terrorism-and-gaslighting--if-you-downvote-this-post-you-are-part-of-the-problem
I really like these images from the workshop that you do, and the black and white lends them a really dramatic feel.
Many thanks! Too bad I don't know what the damn thing does (but I do know how much labor will go into it :() At least the environment is photogenic for some, lol
I imagine you wandering around out there taking photos and the operators going, who the hell is this dude?
Every day, my friend...every day. Then they remember me when it's payroll day, however...then I'm everyone's best friend. Odd how that works, right?
Haha, yep that's how it works; you're only popular twice a month. 😂
You've done a wonderful job, making good use of curves, angles, textures, shadows and lights alike... That's the way to do black and white!....Excellent!
Thanks so much! I do love the simplicity of it all when I find something like that (and can actually take the time to photograph)
Really nice textures on those!
I keep on trying, lol
