My #sublimesunday share, as inspired by @c0ff33a. This one features a return to marshlands nearby...for some pictures of ice and algae, February Wisconsin style.

These waters, too, share a kindred spirit with the Mississippi River. This whole area of the Driftless is a shared network of waters that come and go from the Mississippi River. I've had a bit of a love affair with the Mississippi River the past few months. As I now drive some 30 miles to and 30 miles from my new place of work, I hug the Mississippi River along good old, Highway 61 of Bob Dylan fame, every work day. Floating along and gazing over the valley, I really can't ask for a better commute every day.

It's moments like today, when I can literally walk up to the sacred waters of the Grand River and appreciate the ice and growth that exists in the area.

It was one of those days where the wind was burning the face and fingers, but the extra time taken to slide to the shoreline was worth it. Cold wind and all, I do appreciate the blues and greens and whites that are representative of this unique area at this time of year. With no snow about, it is refreshing to see some sign of winter life at this point.

Just a few more months, and all signs of winter will be gone yet again. So, I have to enjoy it while I can! Thanks for checking out my #sublimesunday share.
