A Sublime Sunday Walk

For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a, we headed to the local marsh yet again. With tons of rain this past week, we wanted to see how the animals fared after all the water fell past week from the sky above. The marsh, as you can believe, was definitely alive today.

There are the hissers, above. Hattie and I turned around on our bike after I managed that photo, got a full head of steam, and blew past them. All of them were hissing at us as we biked by. Nasty little buggers, but their children are awfully cute.

We also found a snake on the trail; we immediately named it "Stripey."

The rest of the bike ride/walk was taking in the beauty of the area after the amount of water that fell. The birds were alive, the frogs were alive, the turtles were alive...it was a pretty amazing experience to hear the wildlife today. Most certainly, very sublime!

All in all, it was a wonderful Sunday yet again. With so much of our future uncertain at this point as a family, it was a much needed trip to our beloved marsh to take in the views. I was going to break out the new lens and drone but decided to keep it minimalistic today with the phone camers.

Sometimes, it's the best tool to record the views of life.

Thanks for stopping by to check out our #sublimesunday adventure. I hope everyone out there had a wonderful Sunday too. On to the next week, and to more adventures.

You picked a great name for the snake! The geese are everywhere right now. They walk right into the road, where cars are going 40 or 50 miles per hour. I absolutely dread the idea of accidentally running over the goslings! We have wild turkeys all over the place where I live too — also heedless of traffic.

The mallards this past week were in the process of moving the babies from our neighborhood to the marsh...I know that feeling. The dread of seeing a family of babies crossing a busy street. Fortunately, people in this area are pretty good about being mindful around them!
