What Is Holding People Back From Web 3?

When the internet first came out a lot of people thought it was going to fail. Why? Because it was something new and strange to the masses so much that a lot of people didn’t pay attention to it. They thought it was going to fail cause they didn’t think they had use for it. Fast forward, now not a lot of us can be at rest without the internet. A few days with bad network and our lives are already ruined.

I’ve been to places which had very good networks and I must say in those places I enjoyed using the internet very much. At those places, I said I had one of the best experiences just because I had access to the internet. But whenever I was somewhere which had a bad network I didn’t enjoy the place. Why? Simply because I didn’t have a way of connecting to the internet.

The internet has become part and parcel of our lives. We can’t do without it. It serves as a way of being connected with the world, no matter where you are.

Look at Web 2 and Web 3. What is the difference? There are a lot of differences between Web 2 and Web 3 but then the only big difference here between the 2 of them is that Web 2 came out first. Not a lot of people even know about Web 3 in the first place and as such are not even interested in it. Since Web 2 came out first it’s quite hard for Web 3 to all of a sudden come out of the blue and overtake it. I’ve had my experiences with people whom I have wanted to onboard.

Some people want to come to Web 3 and make fortunes here. Some come here and try to do what they do on Web 2. Yes, what might work for me might not work for you but one thing I know about Web 3 is that we all have equal opportunity. The opportunity the Web 3 platform gives to me is the same opportunity which is given to other users.

Web 3 comes with a lot of advantages but then we don’t see half of Facebook or half of Twitter users here. One of the problems here is that it pays to write on hive but it doesn’t pay to promote hive.

Yes, I get that there are a lot of people who write that they promote Hive and get paid. But then what is the incentive for someone who promotes hive but doesn’t write about it? There are a lot of other things to do on Hive rather than just writing, not enough people get paid to promote Hive and as such I think it is the first problem with people who are not on Web 3.

People don’t also believe when you tell them what Web 3 offers. I mean, hive or Web 3 is not just about writing. If you are not interested in writing you can play games. You can also be a curator and earn through that, but what is stopping investors from buying hive and curating to earn curation rewards? Probably not enough education about what they can do.

People not believing what offers is a normal thing with a lot of people. Even most of us who discovered hive or Web 3 through other people didn’t also want to believe it at first. We couldn’t believe there was a Web 3 platform that paid users in crypto just to write on their platform. Plus, it was even decentralised.

One other thing is the get-rich-quick attitude that a lot of people have when it comes to Web 3. Web 2 doesn’t present an opportunity to earn so the moment you are on there you know you are not there to earn but rather for added benefits. With Web 3 you have the chance to earn but for some reason, some people think they can get so ram rich by writing on hive. I don’t know if it’s possible but this is not a Ponzi scheme something. You can make money but earn crypto from your blogs but it’s definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme. You have to really enjoy being on Web 3 to really see the benefits of being on Web 3.

There are a lot of reasons why people are not benefiting from the Web 3 numerous opportunities. It takes time but sooner or later the word will come out and people will see it. For now, we are happy to be here.
