The Concept Of Karma

Hi guys,

Welcome to my blog. This is a new week and as usual hive Ghana have come out with amazing topics we can choose from to write about. Every week, they moderate three topics for that week, people who do not know what to write can choose to write one or all of these three topics for the week.

Today I’ll be writing about one of these topics that have always been a subject of contention in the Ghanaian setting, or should I say the African setting?

In this part of the world we are made to believe in a lot of supernatural stuff. I don’t really blame those who believe in this type of stuff, why? As soon as we are born these types of things are put into us by our parents, some of them are lies fed to us by our peers from infancy so yh we actually believe in them rather easily.

In an African setting, some of these things are meant to deter us from doing setting things at the wrong time. And well some of them are as a result of religious beliefs. Am not going to lie, I am a religious person. I do believe in some of this spiritual stuff. For instance I don’t believe in Ghosts as some movies portray them to exist.

Now something that I’ve not been able to wrap my head around for a very long time is the concept of Karma. Each time you hear people saying, Karma said this, Karma said that bla bla bla. What at all is this Karma people are talking about?

According to Oxford dictionary

good or bad luck, viewed as resulting from one’s actions.

If you don’t understand this, permit me to explain. So there is this kind of belief that what ever bad you do to someone whether in the past or in the present you or someone in your family will pay for it at a particular point in time. This is something I don’t believe in. Yes, I do believe in the concept of Karma but I don’t believe it works in the way people say it does.

Let me give a real like scenario here. Let’s say I am dating someone and treating her very badly. When I break up with that lady, she’ll in turn tell me that one day my sister too will
Suffer the same faith since I’ve not treated her well and she’s also a lady. This is something I don’t think should even be spoken about. I believe that we will all pay for our bad deeds but I don’t see why someone has to pay for what I have done against someone. Hope am making sense?

In any case, If karma really works that way then does it mean that you that I’ve done bad to you are also paying for something you did to someone? If you haven’t done anything bad to someone then why will you be allowed to face consequences from someone else. All this karma shit is so weird to me lol.

Oh my,😂you couldn’t have said this any other way. I mean I don’t know who put this thing in our mindset. If I refuse to give you my money karma will soon catch up with me, my own money.😂 black people need to come back to reality.
