Adding Liquidity

Ok, so I was going to postpone this post until I actually saw some returns before talking about it, then something happened so why not just talk about it heh? Plus I won’t be home for most of the day so I might not have the chance to write when I get home today as I’ve found myself struggling to write blogs this days due to that.

Holozing has been out for a while now and am trying my best to earn as much zing as I can. In my case, I would have wanted to earn much much more but now I am only earning as much as I can afford; if you get what I mean. For the most of it, my earnings of the Zing token are coming from my HP delegation which in all honesty doesn’t feel like a loss right now.

The token just started trading on Hive engine a few days ago and well am surprised at how bullish the price is up until now. Most of the time when people get airdropped tokens they quickly shill them off in the market so I was kind of expecting the price to dump real hard, it’s great to see that people are patiently waiting for the game to see what it offers.

For me, before the game comes out am trying my best to get a lot of the zing. One might say am rushing into things and FOMO doing a lot of things because this is my first time getting into a game early. Nope, this is not my first time. Am relatively new on hive but I’ve hopped in a couple of projects quite early. Have they worked out how I wanted them to? No. But am still out here getting into projects early.

One thing about the crypto space a lot of people don’t get is that things don’t always work out as planned. That is how life is and it sucks at times but then what can we do?

Well, there are a few ways to earn zing which I’ve been talking about for some time now. I was only earning zing through 2 ways, HP delegation and through staking. The staked zing is being earned through the HP delegation.

So today I decided to add liquidity to the pool. Am not going to lie, I don’t know how this is going to impact the amount of zing I’ll get, there is a price coated there but I want the first batch of rewards to come in for me before I actually know what am earning. I don’t really know if it’s a good thing to add liquidity to the pool right now but I wanted to give it a try and see where it takes me for now.

So in the meantime I’ve added 9 hive/ 105 zing to the pool. This can go sideways and I might end up getting what I thought I would get out of this. But it’ll be a cool experiment for me anyway. This is actually the first time am adding liquidity to anything. I did have to read around to understand more about liquidity, like the risk-to-reward ratio.

The thing about liquidity is that you should be ready to lose money at any time without being sad about it. As this is how the market works. At times you provide liquidity and it goes on just fine for you and at times it doesn’t.

So I think I’d be expecting my first batch of rewards after 24 hours. So let’s see how it goes.

@rubilu! You Are Alive so I just staked 0.1 $ALIVE to your account on behalf of @ pepetoken. (5/20)

The tip has been paid for by the We Are Alive Tribe through the earnings on @alive.chat, feel free to swing by our daily chat any time you want, plus you can win Hive Power (2x 50 HP) and Alive Power (2x 500 AP) delegations (4 weeks), and Ecency Points (4x 50 EP), in our chat every day.

HoloZing was my first liquidity pool too, and maybe I can share something with you and your readers that I learned ( thank you to @hurt in the HoloZing discord for explaining this).

I was patiently waiting for my rewards to arrive 24hrs after the rewards went live, but much to my disappointment, the time rolled round and .....no rewards. It turns out that there is a quirk with Hive liquidity pools that you should be aware of, and that is if your last addition of liquidity to the pool was less than 24hrs before the first reward time, you will have to wait a full 24hrs later to recieve rewards ( so the next cycle) ...wait for it...as long as you do not add more liquidity to the pool in that next 24hr period. If you do you will then have to repeat the 24hr wait , starting at the next reward pay out time.

This only applies to your first reward pay out , after you have left this 24hr fallow period and received your first pay out, you can add or remove liquidity without affecting your reward pay out cycle.

In my excitement , I added more liquidity a few hours before the first pay out timer stated, so I had to pass 24hrs doing not adding anything to the pool and then get paid the NEXT cycle. Unfortunately, the rewards did not accrue, and I was a worried that the pool was broken, but no, it just a quirk that I now know about and can avoid in the future.

So in summary, put your liquidity in, leave it alone and do nothing until your first pay out, then after that you can add or remove liquidity at will and you will get rewards every 24hrs
