Amazing Battle with Melee Attack Monsters | Splinterlands Social Media Challenge

Hello everyone, Welcome to my Splinterlands Social Media Challenge post. In this post, I will talk about Melee Attack Monsters and more, as well as an amazing battle.

Melee Attack Monsters are very powerful Monsters that can be effective in battles. Especially those who can attack from all positions, so they can be much more effective in battles with the Melee Mayhem ruleset, Equal Opportunity ruleset and Super Sneak ruleset. And with a good strategy, it is up to us to make them more effective and prevent our opponents from being effective.

Inspire Ability gives all friendly Monsters +1 Melee attack, and Demoralize Ability reduces the Melee attack of all enemy Monsters by -1. As much as I care about the monsters in my team being able to attack their targets more powerfully in battles, I also care about reducing the attack power of the enemies, so these are the two abilities I use most in the rulesets I mentioned above and in Melee battles. And I would like to say that I include more than one of these abilities in my lineup whenever I have the opportunity. But not only these, there are many abilities that can help your strategy in Melee battles. I will continue to talk about some of the ones I use most below.

Additionally, Monsters with the Thorns Ability deal 2 Melee damage back to the attacker when hit with a Melee attack. Monsters with the Shield Ability reduce damage from Melee and Ranged attacks by 50%. If an enemy misses a Monster with the Backfire Ability, the attacker takes 2 Melee damage. When hit with a Melee attack, Monsters with Retaliate Ability have a 50% chance of immediately attacking their attacker. I strongly recommend that you include these abilities in your lineup, which are very useful against melee attack monsters.

Armor is very useful against melee attacks because no matter how powerful a melee attack monster attacks, they cannot damage their target's health without destroying their armor. Armoring the Monsters in your team will give them an advantage, while reducing the armor of your opponents will make it easier to destroy them. You may consider including the Protect Ability to your lineup to give 2 extra armor to the monsters in your team, and the Rust Ability to reduce the armor of the enemies by 2. By the way, if the attack damage of Monsters with the Piercing Ability exceeds the target's Armor, the remainder will damage the target's Health.

There are many more abilities that will help you with your strategy in melee battles, but I mentioned the abilities I use most above, let's examine them in a battle.

Battle Ruleset

  • Melee Mayhem: Melee attack Monsters can attack from any position.
  • Aimless: All Monsters have the Scattershot ability.

According to the ruleset of the battle, all monsters in this battle will have the Scattershot Ability, and Melee attack Monsters will be able to attack from any position. Before starting the battle, when I reviewed the recent 5 battles of the opponent player, I saw that the opponent player had very powerful cards and I knew that I would fight against max level cards in this battle. The opposing player's deck was much more powerful than mine and this battle was not going to be easy for me at all and I needed much better strategy to win the battle. Considering the ruleset of the battle, I had a better chance of winning this battle with melee attack monsters, and I could predict that the opposing player would also prefer melee attack monsters. I determined my strategy accordingly.

First of all, I chose Helios Matriarch as the Summoner since I want to use a gladiator card and both Dragon and Death Units in this battle.

I put Djinn Chwala with Thorns and Enrage abilities in the first position, and Cursed Windeku with Thorns and Heal Abilities in the last position. Thus, enemy melee attack monsters that attacked the first and last position would suffer. Additionally, the Heal Ability would make Cursed Windeku harder to destroy, and the Enrage Ability, when active, would allow Djinn Chwala to hit its target much harder.

In the second position, I put Harklaw, who has Shield, Demoralize and Immunity abilities. If the enemies manage to destroy Djinn Chwala, they will be confronted by Harklaw, who will be able to defend much more strongly against melee attackers. Additionally, thanks to the Demoralize Ability, the melee attack of all enemy melee attack monsters will be reduced by 1. However, thinking that this wouldn't be enough, I also added Disintegrator with the Demoralize Ability to my team, so their melee attack will once again be reduced by 1. Thus, enemy melee attack monsters can take more back damage from Thorns than they inflict, and they will also have a hard time dealing damage to Harklaw with Shield Ability.

Since it has 5 melee attacks, I chose Trapp Falloway as the gladiator and put it in the third position. And I added Ravenhood Warden, who has the Protect and Inspire abilities, to my team and put it in the fourth position. It's unbelievable that it only costs 4 mana and has these abilities.

BATTLE COMMENTS

Frankly, the opposing team was very powerful as I expected and the opposing player's strategy was also very good. The opponent player had included most of the abilities I mentioned above in their lineup, but I was very surprised that they did not use the Thorns Ability.

After the abilities are applied;

The opposing team's monsters took serious back damage from Thorns in the first two rounds, and the opposing team almost lost their Monsters, which could be the most effective in this battle, which clearly showed how useful the Thorns Ability is in such battles. This is exactly why I used the Thorns Ability in both the first position and the last position. Additionally, using the Inspire Ability made the melee attack monsters on my team more effective, while using 2 Demoralize Abilities prevented the enemy melee attack monsters from being effective. In short, my strategy allowed me to achieve an easy victory against a very powerful team.

The battle lasted 6 rounds and at the end of the battle, while all the monsters on the opposing team were destroyed, 5 monsters on my team were still alive. To be honest, I did not expect such an easy victory against such a powerful team. My strategy worked very well in this battle, especially using the Thorns Ability in both the first and last position was very useful. I strongly recommend that you use the abilities I mentioned above in such battles, especially the Thorns ability.

If you have any questions about abilities, rulesets, the battle above, and Splinterlands, please feel free to ask and I'll be happy to answer them.
