Jeeto Pakistan: My Live Game Show Experience

Today, I have been to one of the famous game show in Pakistan: Jeeto Pakistan means WIN PAKISTAN. We used to watch it a lot specially in the Holy month of Ramadan. Last Ramadan, in April of this year, I followed the instructions and sent sms in order to get invitation in this show. Unfortunately, they didn’t get back to me with any news. So, I moved on and didn’t think of it much. Couple of days ago, I was in super store buying some stuff when I received a call from unknown number, thinking of it as a fake call, I handed over my cell phone to my friend to get rid of it. Later, my friend said it was not looking a fake call as they didn’t ask for any monies instead informed that you have got invitation in the show for four persons. Still I didn’t believe it. When I came home, I got sms from the same number with the code. WOW finally I believed it and I got the opportunity to be the part of this game show.

Since then, it’s the main topic at home, discussing things and being happy if we can get some gifts or big prize lol. On the back of my mind, I knew it is all about luck. We booked a car for pick and drop. Good thing is its Sunday and we wont be busy, won’t be at work. It would be cool.
My parents, wife and kids went to the location this evening. Show time is 8 pm and we were asked to be there by 6 pm. We don’t wanna be late so we were there by 5:30. Too many people were already there standing and waiting in a que. They have a list of people to whom they called and sent code. Its all systematic and I liked it. Our number came and we were checked and then asked to move in. we went inside the studio. According to my code, we have seats on the upper side of the hall so I requested them to allot ground seats to my parents. They agreed and we got separated, me and my wife with kids went up and were provided middle seats. We settled down and my parents got seated in the ground floor.

We waited 2 hours for the live game show to get started and finally, the famous host Mr. Fahad Mustafa entered the arena. He is one of my favorite actor as well. Immediately, he started the first segment. He wanted three boys for this segment and selected them randomly, winner will get a bike. It was a nice ball game where basket hat was provided and a person have to reflect tennis ball on a mirror to put it in the basket hat. It was not easy at all. All three of them tried well. two of them gets five balls in the basket hat and then because it’s a tie, no one gets the bike instead he randomly selected two cute girls as the winner of that bike.

Game show moves on and he wanted three girls/ladies for second game. I shouted for my wife but didn’t get chance. Game was about taking a pencil from one to end another making a pout, without touching or holding with your hands. It is easy for people who take duck face selfies a lot hehehe. All of the ladies tried and did well and one of them won the bike.

Then there were couple of games for couples and again we were not selected or called. The host select randomly and we were not that lucky today however, we enjoyed watching all the games. My brothers were also watching us on TV. My bro and his family in Sweden were watching very closely and I was getting instant msgs from him, why didn’t you took part in this game why didn’t you took part in that game. My nephews were thinking that I will get chance in Push up game but again, I didn’t get chance.

Honestly, I was busy looking after my kids with my wife. Another reason was confidence. Yes, I was not confident enough to do such things on a live show. If something goes wrong, the Host humiliates that person a lot in a funny way but still its too much for me, I can’t handle those words of humiliation. People do take those words as compliment but not me. We had a chance to get a gift. Gift packs were distributed just infront of me but people are so crazy, they were busy snatching from their hands. I even didn’t stand from my seat however, I was moving hands in a funny way when he left our space.

Overall, it was a nice experience of attending a live game show. It feels good to be the part of the game show which telecasted live on air. At around 10 pm, game show was over and we heard a shout of pack up. We didn’t win anything from the game show but we did enjoyed a lot.
