EU inflation hits 10.9% in September

Inflation for the EU as a whole was 10.9%, and for the eurozone it was 9.9%. Eighteen EU countries now have double-digit inflation.

In the UK, inflation came in at 10.01%.

The above is despite energy prices (especially natural gas) starting to fall.

The problem is that both the EU and the UK import a lot of goods. That means that as long as the euro and the pound remain weak, they're importing inflation.
