Life after university.//. LOH contest #190

Change is an inevitable force of life that forces us out of our comfort zone to unknown territories. And as humans, we have the natural instinct to adapt to any changes. While some changes are mostly unexpected and often catch us off guard, some are anticipated in advance. Regardless, Change can either have negative or positive impacts on humans.

Every undergraduate often thinks life after school is fun. Yeah, I fell victim too.
I graduated last year from uni and it has been a whole new life for me. After getting a degree I waited for a few months before going for my mandatory service year which involved me relocating to a different state for a year.

So, I started my service in January, I found myself living alone independently for the first time in a whole new environment with new faces, New cultures and lifestyles, and so on. It was quite challenging. I have been almost independent and taking responsibility and decisions on my own.

Though, this change was anticipated and I was a bit prepared but it felt like I was caught off guard. The reality was actually way different from what I'd anticipated. The first few months were quite depressing but I'm adjusting and still learning even after 6 months, I'm still adapting

source.

To cope with these changes, I'd develop different strategies for the respective problems I face.
I'm not really a routine person but creating a new routine and daily plans have boosted my productivity. It also helps with time management.

Ever since I started my service and new life, I've received less allowance from my parents and it has prompted me to be more efficient with my budgeting and spending.

Since my new place is more on the rural side it is really hard for me to get groceries, toiletries, and other things I need. So I'd buy things in bulk from a distanced supermarket. This saved me time, energy, and money.

Making a few friends has helped ease the boredom but discovering new hobbies like meditation, reading, talking walking, and so on has helped me relax and stay positive. I also find happiness in my favorite hobbies which are drawing and sewing, they have been my best buddies.

In conclusion, these changes and growing pains have taught me to be more hard-working and productive. They have improved my budgeting and planning skills, It has also helped me to manage my time so well. It has also improved my sense of Independence I hadn't experienced before.

I believe as humans we can go through any change because of our supernatural ability to adapt. We can learn to get the most out of every situation. I will end with this common saying “If life gives you lemons make lemonades”

Sometimes things don't happen as we imagined or expected them. It's good that you are adjusting gracefully to your new environment and the new life you are leading away from your family. All the best and have fun !LADY
