When things are fine, some people think that is how it will be continued. But not knowing that this life is full of unexpected things, it is the face of a coin. One face would be your side while that of another side face will be other people. This is a life full of ups and downs. But most people give whatever it takes to maintain their status.

This did not apply to the case of Mr Mashood. When he was a young man many people called him Mashood, he was a very rich businessman and many Ladies were after him to be their spouses but he decided to stick to elegant Kodjat who was in her final year at a tertiary institution and she studied business administration. Mr Mashood was a caring man, he made sure that whatever Kodjat needed got to her on time without delay. Kodjat saw herself as a lucky Lady among her peers because she used to boast whenever she was with her friends. Do you know what my babe just bought for me? He has replaced my car with a brand new one.

After a while, Mr Mashood told her to let their relationship move to another level. She was happy to hear good news and shouted euphoria and said thank you, my husband. Mr Mashood brought out the gold ring and fixed it on her finger and they kissed each other. Kodjat said thank you and I am now a wife-to-be.

Both of them informed their parents and they fixed a date for both engagement and wedding. When they did their wedding, it was talking in town because Mr Moshood spent a lot of money on that wedding.

They started their journey in marriage, as time goes on they were having children and Mr Mashood was making sure that he gives what it takes to take care of his family. His wife was using different cars, and Mashood had set up standard business for her because he had intended that if she was well equipped, he would be relieved a little bit. MeaMeansat, not everything she will be requesting from him again, she would be self-reliant.

After ten years, things turned upside down. His business started crumbling gradually. He ordered millions of dollars from abroad that later sank into the deep ocean and he found it difficult to pay salaries and wages to his employees again. Meanwhile, 80% of the money spent on the importation of the goods being perished was a bank loan which was supposed to be payback instrumentally.

When it was time to start paying the loan he couldn't pay and financing his family was difficult. Both bank and his wife (Kodjat) were on his neck for the money but there was no means to get anything. To the extent that he went to meet his business associate for financial assistance but no lock.

One day, Mr Mashood called his wife to assist him with some money to pay some bills. Even to pay part of the bank's money, at least if he can pay part of the money they will not say that he didn't pay but Kodjat was giving him one excuse that she got the goods that she was selling which the supplier expects her to pay on time so there's no money she could lend him for now.

Mashood said I know the amount of money I have put into your business. Even if I don't work again there should not be a problem financing our home. What is happening, my wife? I have even used some of my properties as collateral to secure a loan from a financial institution. I would have sold it to raise money.

Kodjat was furious. So you have used my children's inheritance for money from the bank. What nonsense did you do? And do you want to start telling people that you are the one who set up business for me?

Of course, is it a crime for a husband to set up a business venture for his wife? Is not a big deal if people know it. Said Mashood.

After a couple of weeks, Mashood came home to pick up the document and he met a man in the living room. Kodjat introduced this man as her Elder brother.

Your Elder brother? Which of your elder brothers did I not know since we got married? No problem, I came home to pick up something. Anyway good day Sir, it is my pleasure to meet you. I am very sorry for not being able to entertain you but my wife would do that for me. We shall see some other time. Said Mashood.

Kodjat started showing different attitudes toward her husband. At times, she will talk to him in public as if she was talking to the house-made.

Mashood was not happy with the situation. Kodjat, am I the one you were addressed like this in the presence of your friends? What has come over you? Why are you doing this? I hope you don't forget Mashood, your husband is the one standing before you. Said Mashood.

And so, are they using your name to get money from the bank? What is all this? Please I beg let me be. Since the day I knew that you had used my children's inheritance to get money to finance your useless business of yours, you had loosened your honour from me. Said Kodjat.

"However, Mashood has become a floating leaf on the stream water without the rest of the mind. The bank was dragging him and his wife did not give him the rest of his mind at home."

Mr Mashood sat down at the bar, he was drinking beer to cool his mind. Suddenly, he noticed that someone sitting in front of him happened to be his old school friend. He said what am I seeing? You William, how come? When did you arrive?

I have been around for some time now. What is happening to you, friend? You were not like this before. Said the William.

"Mashood said I am going through a lot of things now and I don't know what to do anymore. All that I have gathered as wealth from my youth days have been swept away like a river in a day."

Wow! How did it happen? What led to it? Said the William.

As you know, I am a businessman and there was a multimillion-dollar worth of goods that I have ordered from overseas and it has perished while coming on the sea. What hurts me most is that I have borrowed money from the bank to facilitate this importation and it was my company and the other assets I used as collateral to secure the loan. Now, there are no goods to sell to pay back the loan and the bank is about to seize everything I worked for all my life. Can you see that I am finished? Said Mashood.

Oh my goodness! This is pathetic. But in any foreign business like that, there are always columns that cater for insurance purposes in the case of unforeseen circumstances to enable insurance companies to bear the risk involved. What is the name of the agency that you used to carry it from abroad? Said the William.

Mashood replied that JJZ Ltd is the name of the agent facilitating the shipping from the overseas country. But wait a minute is like it has been insured because documents are being given to me. I can remember vividly. Yes, I have it.

Alright, if you have it then I can help you push for a claim because I am working with JJZ Ltd and I would assist to make sure that you are relieved from this mental stress. What are we waiting for? Let us go home and take it. Said the William.

When they got home, it was another issue because he caught his wife with the man she introduced as her brother making out on his bed. He could not hold it, he collapsed on that spot and was rushed to the hospital for immediate treatment.

After some hours, he was resurrected in the hospital bed.

Ah! William, can you see life? Look at the person I wasted all my life working for, not knowing she was after my life. Said Mashood.

William cuts in. Eh, rest for now. You don't need it. When there is life, there is hope. Because a dead man can not know what they are doing on earth. Take care of yourself first before anything. What I need from you is the insurance certificate that will facilitate the claim. I believe in God and he will restore you. Just calm down.

Later, he was discharged from the hospital. He went straight home to pick up his clothes and other necessary documents and left the house to lodge in the hotel room.

Mashood didn't show up at home for weeks, and Kodjat his wife was running
helter-skelter seeking people that will help her beg Mashood.

One day, she met with William on the roadside. She stopped him and started begging him to help her out to know what Mashood were about because his kids are very sick and all the effort to make them fine proved abortive.

William nodded and said alright, I will give you the location where your husband is and I don't know how you will beg him to accept you back. If it is not because of the kids you mentioned I would have not told you because you did not do well.

The same day at the hotel, Mashood was watching an episode movie and there was a knocking on the door.

Who is that person? Please give me a minute, I will join you shortly. Immediately Mashood opened the door before he will close it back, she dragged the handle of the door with him and entered the room. Mashood wanted to call on the hotel security personnel to throw her out of the hotel and they were on this, William got there and he was able to control the situation.

"William said I don't say you should accept this woman back but hear her first before you will jump to a conclusion."

Mashood, our children are sick and I have taken them to the hospital but instead, to get better they are responding to the treatment at all. It was the doctor that suggested that it seemed that they wanted to see their father. Please, I am very sorry for what I have done to you and I have learned my lesson. It will never repeat itself. It was my friends that misled me to behave like that. They were the ones telling me to frustrate you to enable you to do more than what you are doing for me. I did not know they were finding means to send me out of my husband's house. Because immediately you left the house, I did not see any one of them again.

Ah! What happened to my children? I can't afford to lose my children. Let us go there and immediately after these children saw their father, they woke up in the hospital bed and held their father. Kodjat was sobered, she opened the door to leave the hospital ward and Mashood grabbed her from the back don't worry, I have forgiven you. But first I don't want to see you with these friends of yours again and don't let this repeat itself. They embraced each other.
