Maybe it's my Degen move.

I joined STEEM HIVE in December 2017 but frankly speaking, I was not able to do much in the blockchain and I already have given up that I can earn by posting in Hive. Suddenly things changed when I joined Splinterlands (Steemmonsters at that time) and I started playing and posting for the Splinterlands challenge. With the launch of the communities, it helped to focus on the specific niche and interaction become much easier. It also helped in forming camaraderie. Tokenization of the communities also made rewarding the community members easy and it become one of my goals to have some substantial stake in communities so that curation at each community can bring me some nice income.

But leaving the few, most of the tokenized communities were not able to grow their tokenomics and ultimately even get abandoned by their owner also. Few still exist but the growth of the communities (as per tokenization) actually dipped instead of growing. Witnessing so many struggling projects in Layer 2, I decided to put my focus on Layer 1 i.e Hive.

I decided to increase my Hive power as you can see in the below screenshot as it already crossed 18500 now.

But if you see more closely then you will notice that my Author and curation rewards combined are much less than my Effective Hive Power and it means that I powered up more Hive than I earned by curating and by Authorship. I think most of the extra powered-up Hive come by trading/selling DEC, so Splinterlands really helped me with some nice chunk of Hive Power too.

So what next.

Actually, in the current stage, I am no more making any Layer 2 goals, I am happy with what I achieved and I think I completed and surpassed all my Layer 2 goals in Hive (except for the LIST token but throwing just a couple of Hive will get me there so not a big deal.)

My full focus is on increasing Hive Power now and I have really taken a lease of HP from Dlease.io to increase my Hive Power and apart from keeping the SPS and Node License, I am now started thinking of offloading my Splinterlands assets for Hive Power and already started offloading my UNTAMED packs now and will be powering up for Hive gradually.

So what Degen

Sometimes I feel that putting so much focus on Hive might make me miss the "early advantage" in crypto if Hive did not reach the levels that I am expecting. So in the end my all effort and time will be wasted in having a bag of a single coin. Also, it is now some kind of all-in bet because I do not think I feel myself at the same level of energy to build things if something goes wrong.

I know my strategy might not be correct but I guess I am "double down" here and may be in Hopium (Hope + Opium) state.
