"Pasigarbo Sa Sugbo" is a yearly event in our small Province of Cebu in the Philippines where each of the 50 Municipalities of the Province of Cebu compete with each other in a street dancing competition featuring each municipalities specialties. Like in our town of Sibonga where our towns specialty is the "Betel Fruit" or what we call "Bonga Fruit" here. So every 9th and 10th of August we celebrate our "Bonga Festival" which I've covered in one of my Actifit reports. Each municipalities in the Province of Cebu has their own annual festival and thus the "Pasigarbo Sa Sugbo" is meant to promote each and every municipality of the Province of Cebu and attract tourist to our province.

As one might tell this is a very huge event and thus a huge parade is in session and a parade can't be a parade without these guys on the streets 😁

Each town is introduced by a banner stating their town, what annual festival does their town do as seen in the photo above. I would love to share each and every towns banner with you guys but sadly the event was too long that I had to go home after the 14th municipality since it was already 6PM and the parade and street dancing is actually still being continued to progress as I write this blog 😅

After the banner is a fluvial parade of each of the municipalities Christian Patron or Saint with all the decorations you might expect from such a parade. Usually the saint's are being moved by a small cartel but since this parade is huge so each municipality has their own trucks or vans decorated to show off their towns Patrons.

Then it is followed by a very spectacular and colorful street dancing performances from each of the municipalities of Cebu. The example street dance above is from the Municipality of Aluginsan which celebrates the "Kinsan Festival" which is their towns specialty which is fish and thus their costumes and props resemble the bountiful produces of the sea.

Aside from the colorful and wonderful street dancing performance en masse there's also another very important aspect of these festivals which make them more appealing to the viewers and that is the so called "Festival Queens" they are one of the main attractions of each parade but sadly not every municipality has a "Festival Queen" as of now. I'm not entirely sure about the numbers but I'm guessing probably around 10 "Festival Queens" all in all. Each of them are very beautiful girls which honestly is the "Pride" of their Municipality. They dance gracefully and full of passion and obviously smiles 😁

People from all over Cebu and each of the municipalities flocked here to witness and support their beloved Municipality 😍

This event is so big that Reporters from our local television news channels are here to cover the "Pasigarbo Sa Sugbo" I was so luck to be just besides these guys so I was able to take some shots at them 😁

This ends my brief explanation or introduction to the "Pasigarbo Sa Sugbo". I'm not much for words and I'm not here to share my opinions or beliefs. I'm here to share the wonderful photos that I got during this huge event and these pictures are something that I'm very proud of. I hope you will like them 😘

I've been using my new canon gear even with my actifit report photos that has my watermark on it for almost a month now... I haven't sold my old gear coz I like to use that for landscapes 😁

Yes they where all working as hard as they could coz the street dance on itself is a competition and there's a cash price plus the pride of their municipality on the line as well. Everyone where great actually and in my humble opinion everyone is a winner 😎
