An Avid Follower Turned Into A Model (A Fun Shoot in Argao's Nature Park)

Hello everyone and good day to you all 😘. Just a few days ago I was lucky enough to experience for the first time a photo shoot with an adult model. The first was a turning 3 year old boy and the second was a turning 4 year old girl. I can proudly say I've improve a little bit since my first ever photo shoot session but having an adult model is really on a whole different level.

This particular model isn't a "Professional Model" per se and to quite honest she is a total newbie when it came to photo shoots. She is quite similar to me and she knows that quite well as she is one of my avid followers in my Facebook Fan Page. It wasn't a planned shoot and I was just going on my afternoon ride to Argao a few days ago. When I stopped by to drink and eat when I arrived in Argao she messaged me in Facebook Messenger and is asking me if I could do a fun/casual photo shoot with her.

At first I was kinda hesitant since I have just arrived, quite tired and I wanted to rest for a bit. Plus the park where I was located was a little dull so to speak but I agreed to her request. I told her the circumstances and she understood it quite well. She then pointed me out to a nearby newly opened little nature park near by. I saw this nature park every time I go to his place and I often wondered what it would be like to have a photo shoot over there as the place is really beautiful looking outside the fence.

When I saw it was finally open for the public, I was kinda excited. So we went in and she was waiting for me to guide her but in all honestly I don't really know what to do... So I looked around at trusted what my gut is telling me to do. So I saw this small pond with a little boat nearby and placed her over there for the first shot which can be seen in the photo above. Honestly I took several shots of it at different angles. The one I shared above is the best in my opinion and it looked really great. The "Toneh"/"Bokeh" is just pitch perfect. The background can still be seen obviously to create interest while maintaining the subject separation. This is what I feel anyways and it might be different for you so share it down in the comments below if you think otherwise 😊

The next one is still on the same scene but in a different field of view. This time you can still see the pond and to make it even more interesting I put her near the bamboo trees to create depth and interest.

Next I placed her in the middle of this road leading to the arched bridge. I wanted to get more of the background so I moved all the way back until I hit the fence behind me 😅 the 50mm lens was too tight for this shot but since it's the only lens I have I just had to make do out of it. Honestly it turned out great despite it being too tight.

Next I had her lean over the broken concrete fence. You might be wondering why this photo's rendering is different from all the other photos and it's because of the lighting conditions. The photo was quite over-expose when I looked at it in the computer. I had to process it differently or else the image would looked washed out and honestly I do love this photo so I had to save it no matter the cost. I didn't expect it but I love this one even more. It now has a film-like touch to it like it was captured using a film camera 😍 What do you guys think?

This next pose was her idea... She asked me if it would be fine if she would sit on the fence and I honestly told her not to because she might fall... for me... I mean into the water behind her. Since she said she would be careful and so I took a series of photos in a hastily manner. You might think the bright thing that cut her in half is a distraction but to me it isn't. I showed all of these photos to her during the shoot and she liked how this photo turned out apparently 😁

Next is I had her lean forward in the concrete fence. This spot is really quite nice coz some parts of her face have been highlighted with the sun while some have been shaded with the bamboo leaves. That combination really is quite great in my novice eyes. She loved this one as well... She even made a funny remark of "I think I'll be in love with my self looking at that photo" 😍 I don't blame her though coz it was very nicely taken indeed 😎

This next shot was all on me. I already knew at the back of my head that shooting directly at the sun would be a very bad Idea. I have read it so many times online as I was researching about photography. Despite that I put her there and in camera it looked fine but when I got to the computer that's where things became quite messy. The light was "TOO" harsh to be honest which was expect of course stupid Pink Hub 😅. At first it looked like a mug shot of a criminal but I took my time processing it and to be quite honest this one gave me a headache 😅 Still I think it turned out great but I wouldn't be doing this anytime soon in the future with this camera 😂

I moved her at the back of the bamboo and placed her where I could use the bamboos as a frame to her face. She liked it but to me not so much. What do you guys think? I mean it's okayish I guess but it didn't really impress me that much but since she liked it I put it right here just in case some of you might like this as well 😉

We moved to a different scene to make a different kind of vibe and luckily we did. I saw this fallen trees next to each other and I made her do two poses on the same spot as seen above. Both turned quite great and I honestly love both of them 😍 I just love the scene as a whole with her posed emotions as well 😉

After doing some more shots on the tree part areas we went back to the entrance of the park where I saw this fence filled with a stone like concrete design so I told her to pose there for me and bam! That extra highlight in the face was really priceless. The photo is sharp and her smile says it all really 😎

Lastly I wanted to take a photo of her at the entrance but honestly the shot was too tight that it wouldn't fit in the frame even if I backed all the way through. So instead I put here in this sign right here just a few meters away from the entrance I think this is a great shot as well. Love the "Toneh"/"Bokeh" balls in the background 😍

After this last shot I told her I had to go. We both expressed our gratitude towards one another before we went our separate ways.

After Shoot Thoughts

Since it was my first ever photo shoot with an adult. I really thought it would be awkward but I guess we both have the same vibes and got a long quite well. Dealing with an adult is way easier than dealing with kids really. The fact that I can tell someone a general idea and the model will try his/her best to act it out is really quite useful. Although I'm still lacking in so many ways but with every shoot I do I learn something new. Like in this shoot I've learned the importance of having multiple lenses 😅. Some shot were too tight that I had to cut off something in the frame which I didn't want to do but I had no choice. There were some scenes that needed a much wider lens to get much more of the background to make the photo even more interesting. Second I now know from experience at last that having the suns light directly at the model is a very bad idea. It could be done but the post processing needed to fix the photo. Third I still need to work more on my composition, sure I feel like I'm improving but like I said I still have more things to improve on and hopefully experience will teach me 😁

The model this time was really great to be honest. Even though she says it's her first time but I think she is already good as a model. She could improve more obviously but as a start she is good. Well I can't really compare since she is the first adult model I have worked with but I feel that she is quite good and she did good.

Anyways this is getting way too long. I was really that excited to share my thoughts on this shoot and I've learned more than what I wrote here really. Have a blessed Sunday everyone! Till Next time! Cheers! 😎
