I think the world is mirroring a post-apocalyptic era where countries want to protect what they have. They see others trying to migrate to their countries as people who are seeking asylum or people who are coming to finish the resources they have.
Reason why I'm still in Nigeria is because of the restrictions to travel and the humongous amount of money you need. So I'm just having to seek the medical attention I can get when I know I can get it elsewhere.
You're right sometimes it's a politician and government thing. Some government makes it hard for their citizens and this is where the problem comes in.

120 years ago it was better. 120 years into the future it'll be harder, who knows people might even need implants and all that. As technology gets better, I feel more restrictions will even happen

You raised an important question about actual freedom. I have never thought about the idea of passport in this light but now that I think about, passport seems limiting to movement. Why can't we move to where we want, whenever we want, without needing a paper?
Well, that's probably a question for governments to answer.

Good to see you back. Passports are pretty terrible and it does sadden me to see people cheerleading main stream media calls to restrict the freedom of movement of others. The world seems to be in a peak centralised phase due to the power of fiat money, hopefully this will come to an end soon and more human and normal rules will come to pass instead of the current dystopia. Don't forget to take your shoes off at the airport and don't bring any water with you! 😅 Only a moron would not see the stupidity of these rules and how absurd things now are.

I really don’t see anything bad about traveling restrictions because freedom of movement may cause bandits and all to enter a country. Well they have found another one though😁😁

I view life as in the Matrix some people get out some people don't. I would say I'm one of the lucky ones that got out. There are four basics life essence if you will. Spiritual, Relationship, Health and Money. Put God first above all else (spiritual) then work on the remaining 3. It is easier than done I'm still working on it physically and emotionally. If you balance these 4 basics essence, I believe you will have an answer for every questions that your brain throws at you.

I agree that visas are crap and should be abolished (because of those visas, In 10 years I haven't been able to go to the UK with my own brother who moved away), but the passport format, as a document for the identification of travelers, I think should exist (it would registered those bad people, criminals and criminals whose movement should be restricted)...
Visa is (in this comparison with BTC) a similar restriction as when certain banks defend the purchase of crypto. They defend the free movement of our money, they defend whatever we try in relation to the bank - our money - crypto and thus limit our freedom.

Freedom is tough when it comes to countries. The governments have the right to deny or approve your travel and you can't really do much about it. I haven't hard any good stories about trying to fight it when the government doesn't want you in.

I wasn't aware that passports were mostly standardized after WW1. I checked, after or during WW2 was the time when modern national ID cards were introduced too.

You know that once a freedom is lost it's very difficult to get it back. I'm surprised they let us out of our homes after the COVID lockdowns, lol. One interesting case is of a freedom "received" and resistance to go back to the old ways: work from home during lockdowns. But I guess that will be "solved" by making the human obsolete for these types of jobs.

I have a... solution: let's get rich and settle Mars. :) Before they make stupid laws over there too.

A lot of these things have sadly started in the last few decades. Credit scores were never a thing before, yet they are everywhere now. It’s sadly the ratchet effect - where these things go forward instead of backward.

I do have hope though! We’ve been in these situations before and one of the things that’s important is that collectively, we are MUCH stronger than we are separated. This is why they try so hard to divide people so we fight like rats over a piece of cheese instead of turning our attention on the very small number of people who are keeping the gate locked and the bits of cheese tossing in every so often.
