Socially Acceptable, Politically Correct .:. Walk & Talk Series

I know some of you like these walk and talk videos, but lately, I'm doing them very rarely... I have noticed that the last one was in December 2023! The type of content (and context) inside these videos are similar to my written version of the "Late Night Blogging" series, but as this is a video material that I'm doing in "one cut", you get additional value... 😂 My "raw opinions", emotions, without "editing" and "softening"... 😃

Summer is coming (already come), and I have decided to switch my daily walks from late afternoon and evening to the morning... It is much more pleasant to walk while the sun isn't frying everything...

Walk And Talk.jpg
Created in Canva.com (yellow thumbnail, like my T-shirt in the walk 😃

It was only 9 AM when I recorded this video, but I was already ready for another rant... 😃 You will notice that during the recording of the video, my level of pissing off was growing, until the moment that I began to stutter... 😃

I like my freedom... But, am I really free? Can I do whatever I want to do? Can I go wherever I want to go? Am I equal to someone from North America, China, or Australia? Are there differences, and why?? Those questions were bothering me and I had to vent out... I tried to go back in time, to find out why we are where we are... I have tried to focus on freedom of movement, especially after reading stories from people who want to come to #HiveFest2024, but they have to "ask for permission" to get IN (or OUT) from the country!

That reminds me of my first years in school... When I would have to go to the toilet during the class, and I had to ask my teacher for permission... Are we 7-year-old children or adults? We need a special paper, called a passport to travel from one place to another... And if our political leader of our country doesn't behave well, we have to ask for "one paper more" to travel (VISA)...

Liotes Divider Blue.png

I dived deeper into that sphere and was free enough (this is Web3 and you can't ask questions about everything... Lucky us!) to talk about it... To figure out how this piece of paper went into law and got socially accepted as a "good routine" all around the globe... I have to admit that I did additional research AFTER recording the video too, and found out that some of the things that I said aren't 100% true, as a passport, in a different form was "invented" much earlier... But, they were standardized between two world wars, and only 50-60 years ago!

During World War I, European governments introduced border passport requirements for security reasons, and to control the emigration of people with useful skills. These controls remained in place after the war, becoming a standard, though controversial, procedure. British tourists of the 1920s complained, especially about attached photographs and physical descriptions, which they considered led to a "nasty dehumanisation".

What would this place look like without passports? How would it be if we wouldn't limit freedom of movement of people? Would that destroy our societies around the world? Some people would take our jobs? I would like to hear your opinion about these things, but firstly, check out the short video I'm sharing here and leave a comment...

Are we REALLY free or are we living in an illusion? This one question can create a whole snowball reaction in your brain... We must question things around us, as these "socially acceptable" things aren't always in our best interest! People are often manipulated to accept them, because of standard tools, fear, and anger... And, often, some solutions are outdated, but still "sold" as the ONLY solution! We can do better!

Thank you for your time.

I think the world is mirroring a post-apocalyptic era where countries want to protect what they have. They see others trying to migrate to their countries as people who are seeking asylum or people who are coming to finish the resources they have.
Reason why I'm still in Nigeria is because of the restrictions to travel and the humongous amount of money you need. So I'm just having to seek the medical attention I can get when I know I can get it elsewhere.
You're right sometimes it's a politician and government thing. Some government makes it hard for their citizens and this is where the problem comes in.

120 years ago it was better. 120 years into the future it'll be harder, who knows people might even need implants and all that. As technology gets better, I feel more restrictions will even happen

I think the world is mirroring a post-apocalyptic era where countries want to protect what they have.

Most of the time, it goes back to politicians... Not protecting the "country" but protecting their interests and getting additional votes from the people... Presenting migration as a "problem" that only THEM can solve... I'm tired of excuses like: "Protecting our way of living", or "protecting our jobs", etc... It's all a big BS! "Protecting" any of those has no sense as you can't protect unprotectable... very soon, you will be replaced by a robot, and you will be fine with that...

Unfortunately, you are probably right about that... People are making that too easy... accepting too many stupid rules and laws...

I heard that the UK are tightening their restrictions lately to protect their jobs, or so they say. The average Joe is having it harder to access some of the important things in the country. At the end, I think it boils down to government not developing their country enough. However there are will countries we'd like to travel to, but unfortunately so many restrictions will kick in. I guess it might get harder

Protecting jobs by locking up (or out) people on one side, and on the other side, building bots and robots that will make any human work obsolete... lol... Gotta love that way of thinking...

It's a government thing, that way of thinking.

I laughed really hard when you said it's better to walk when the sun isn't frying everything. Well, morning walks are actually better in my opinion.

You raised an important question about actual freedom. I have never thought about the idea of passport in this light but now that I think about, passport seems limiting to movement. Why can't we move to where we want, whenever we want, without needing a paper?
Well, that's probably a question for governments to answer.

I'm not sure if that's the question for the government, or for the people who "voted out" those governments...

Good to see you back. Passports are pretty terrible and it does sadden me to see people cheerleading main stream media calls to restrict the freedom of movement of others. The world seems to be in a peak centralised phase due to the power of fiat money, hopefully this will come to an end soon and more human and normal rules will come to pass instead of the current dystopia. Don't forget to take your shoes off at the airport and don't bring any water with you! 😅 Only a moron would not see the stupidity of these rules and how absurd things now are.

🤣 😂 ... and we are so advanced that we are thinking about colonizing Mars... But, before going into the rocket, take off your shoes... lol...
Ridiculous...

It's crazy how restrictions make it hard for people to move around freely. Passports seem like outdated tools limiting our freedom. Morning walks are indeed better dear friend.

They are not outdated tools, they are (and were) redundant from the beginning...

I really don’t see anything bad about traveling restrictions because freedom of movement may cause bandits and all to enter a country. Well they have found another one though😁😁
I wish to be free though and travel everywhere I wish to go

I view life as in the Matrix some people get out some people don't. I would say I'm one of the lucky ones that got out. There are four basics life essence if you will. Spiritual, Relationship, Health and Money. Put God first above all else (spiritual) then work on the remaining 3. It is easier than done I'm still working on it physically and emotionally. If you balance these 4 basics essence, I believe you will have an answer for every questions that your brain throws at you.

I view life as in the Matrix some people get out some people don't.

I have to say that I 100% agree with you on this! And in both ways, the good and the bad way... Those who are living in a Matrix have the "feeling" of living an ordinary, simple, maybe even happy life, but definitely, only scratching the surface of everything...

On the other side, those who get out of it, sometimes do eat disgusting food, realizing what the world truly looks like, but they got the "whole package", not just the shallow emotions from the surface...

So, which pill to choose? 😃

A controversial issue. It touches us Cubans very closely, there are very few countries to which we can travel without requesting a visa. In fact, any country of the European Community is almost a utopia for us. That is the main cause of the illegal emigration that is our daily bread. It is no secret that the economic situation of this country is becoming more precarious every day and people emigrate in the hope of finding improvements, that will continue to happen, but if we could travel freely or with fewer restrictions things would be much better.

I couldn't watch the video...as usual, the connection prevents me from doing so. Otra restricción 🤣.

Maybe it looks like a surprise, but I do understand... Me and my family did something similar when we migrated to Spain, luckily, we didn't have to do it illegally... But, using threats, sanctions, and fear, to keep people inside your country (or trying to prevent them from going to your country) is bad in so many ways... and it doesn't solve the problem for nobody... Time will probably show that as always in the past...

That sucks a lot... That sounds like burning books in the time of the Spanish Inquisition! 😔

Let us hope that someday all these obstacles will be left in the past and that the human right of free mobility, for this planet that is our home, can be fully exercised.

Pretty similar 🤣.

Here near Barcelona, it was sunny almost all day today. It seems that sand in the air from Arfika did not reach these parts. Probably some air current prohibited his passage, restricted his movement, similar to a visa for travelers.

The concept you mention, without limits and equal for all, is the same as the concept of BTC.
No limits, no restrictions, easily and quickly portable...
But there are only 21 million BTC.
And man. at the beginning of the 20th century, there were 1.6 billion people, and at the end of 2022, about 8 billion. and without any restrictions on movement, the question of how the movement of so many people would affect the planet earth, the ecology and the culture of the people...
I agree that visas are crap and should be abolished (because of those visas, In 10 years I haven't been able to go to the UK with my own brother who moved away), but the passport format, as a document for the identification of travelers, I think should exist (it would registered those bad people, criminals and criminals whose movement should be restricted)...
Visa is (in this comparison with BTC) a similar restriction as when certain banks defend the purchase of crypto. They defend the free movement of our money, they defend whatever we try in relation to the bank - our money - crypto and thus limit our freedom.

Oh, you mean those terrorists and bandits that are using Bitcoin? I saw that on a TV for the last 10 years... Those criminals? 😃

Sorry, I had to be ironic... The point of my posts wasn't just a talk about passports, but more about making people think, and maybe empowering them to think "outside the box"... The solutions that we have, aren't always the BEST solutions... Many times, we can do better, and we should strive to do better... But, the truth is that we are suppressed so many times, and brainwashed about so many things...

Cheers! Enjoy the Spanish sun! I heard that this Sahara sand is coming towards you!

Freedom is tough when it comes to countries. The governments have the right to deny or approve your travel and you can't really do much about it. I haven't hard any good stories about trying to fight it when the government doesn't want you in.

It's interesting how ordinary people, like you and me, are so hopeless and powerless... and on the other side, you have these "governments" who are creating and ruling over us... The irony is that WE put them there... and we gave them all that power... It looks like we like to be locked in the cage... :)

I wasn't aware that passports were mostly standardized after WW1. I checked, after or during WW2 was the time when modern national ID cards were introduced too.

You know that once a freedom is lost it's very difficult to get it back. I'm surprised they let us out of our homes after the COVID lockdowns, lol. One interesting case is of a freedom "received" and resistance to go back to the old ways: work from home during lockdowns. But I guess that will be "solved" by making the human obsolete for these types of jobs.

I have a... solution: let's get rich and settle Mars. :) Before they make stupid laws over there too.

Tbh, that surprised me as well... I hope that they didn't do it as there was resistance, but I have no doubts that they will try to do it again...

That's not a bad idea... The best one from the comment section! :)

but I have no doubts that they will try to do it again...

Now that they got the taste for it, and probably loving the power that comes with it, they will probably try to find other pretexts in the future.

I don't think they could have kept going this time because that would have crushed the world economy. But once more jobs get automated...

That's not a bad idea...

Haha, thanks! Not so original my idea, lol.

A lot of these things have sadly started in the last few decades. Credit scores were never a thing before, yet they are everywhere now. It’s sadly the ratchet effect - where these things go forward instead of backward.

I do have hope though! We’ve been in these situations before and one of the things that’s important is that collectively, we are MUCH stronger than we are separated. This is why they try so hard to divide people so we fight like rats over a piece of cheese instead of turning our attention on the very small number of people who are keeping the gate locked and the bits of cheese tossing in every so often.

Credit scores were never a thing before, yet they are everywhere now.

I forgot about those, as they aren't that much "popular" in Europe... But, you are right, that is another thing created by humans to "make us different"...

We’ve been in these situations before and one of the things that’s important is that collectively, we are MUCH stronger than we are separated.

That is also true, but also it's true that the media machine was never as strong as it is today, as there are some powerful tools that didn't exist in the past... On the positive side, those tools aren't exclusive and we can use them to unite people, as we are using THIS platform!

It is good to have an alternative to a rotten world and system...
