Consistency and Adding Value .:. Recap of Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.17 (2024-03-13: HHHLive Show recording)

avatar

I suppose that many people who have been on HIVE for some time heard many times that consistency is the key of growth on this platform... We all heard it, we all know it, but are we really living it? Are we consistent with engaging on (and off) the platform? That's another pair of shoes... It's easy to say, but not that easy to do it...

Especially when hard times are coming, you see fewer and fewer active people, fewer comments, less content, and less engagement... On the other side, when the HIVE price begins to go up, we have "returning" Hivians, coming back to the platform, creating content, and trying to re-build their accounts, until the next price dump... when they will probably leave again... Both cases are an obvious example of inconsistency, and wrong understanding of building wealth, building relations, and building in general... The strongest bonds are always created in difficult times, and in the same way, crypto accumulations are the most effective if it is done when the prices are low...

It is very easy to explain how it works here on HIVE... There is a reward pool in HIVE that is being distributed through curation (upvotes) to Hivians who create content... No matter if it is a bull market, or a bear market this pool is the SAME SIZE... So, if there are fewer people on the platform (few content, comments), people are getting more rewards... It doesn't look like that in those moments, as you see the USD value under your posts, but you do get more HIVE!!! In the bull market is the opposite, more content, more authors, the same reward pool is split among more authors, and the "cut" is smaller... Again, you have the illusion that you earn more as the USD value is bigger, but in reality, you receive fewer HIVE tokens... That's why it's important to accumulate in the bear market!

Of course, you should build in the bull market too... You have having bigger audience, you can create more connections and relations, and that's always a great bonus! So, all in all, it is important to be CONSISTENT and build, regardless of the bull or the bear markets!!!

Darn, I created a post inside the post as that was a long introduction part! Back to the show that we had on Wednesday! The topic seems like an easy one, but it is very wide and we covered multiple aspects in the show...

In the beginning, I went through a couple of comments that you guys left on my announcement post as they were insightful, from people who unfortunately didn't manage to get to the show... One of the comments that I didn't mention in the show was by @palomap3, where she dropped the great thought about the FREQUENCY of doing things... When we talk about consistency, we often think about some daily routines that we are doing, but they don't have to be DAILY... We can be consistent in a different timeframe, and take off some pressure from ourselves...

Speaking of daily posting, I shared my experience from the past when I was daily posting on HIVE for months... That way of pushing hard content creation has good sides, but also it has some bad sides... Losing creativity, doing things "mechanically", creating content for the sake of the content, and not for others, etc.

Liotes Divider Blue.png

It was great to get some of you guys in voice... For example, @pravesh0 voluntarily wanted to share his thoughts on consistency... 😃 Through his talk we got into the topic of multiple accounts on HIVE and why they are good or bad... Are they useful or not? Check out the video and leave your opinion in the comment section...

After him, we had @incublus on the stage sharing his views... He was lucky that he learned about consistency almost right after he came to HIVE! How crucial is it to be consistent and to engage with others, create bonds, and make new friends... As I had a mini-rant about some "lazy" comments, he said something that should be written in the HIVE guidelines book... Talking about comments...

It is not about the number (of comments)... it is about the value!

So, we had a very productive show where we covered multiple topics like leaving meaningful comments, meetups, appreciation, etc.

Don't forget to check out the recording of the show below!

This time we had a smaller group of participants, but I like to call it a CORE group... It was busy in the chat section too and I was lagging with checking out the comments during the show! Including myself, we had 9 participants who were more-less with us from the beginning to the end of the show! That's always nice to see! Thank you, @bemier, @bulkathos, @foxkoit, @incublus, @melinda010100, @mypathtofire, @palomap3, and @pravesh0 for attending and participating in the show! I think that we did a great job and the recording will be useful for others!!!

As usual, we had an after-show session which was a lot of fun as many others joined the voice discussion!! I had an awesome time and it was nice to see that others had too!!!

EDIT: Oh, one important thing... In the after-show, we brought up the idea of having more guests in future shows, and one of the requests was to have @melinda010100 as a special guest in voice... So, what do you guys think about that? Would you like to see more "ordinary" Hivians who are doing the "groundwork" that sometimes isn't visible as future guests? Melinda, would you accept the invitation to be a guest in the next #HHHLive show?

Thank you, guys and girls, once again! As a sign of appreciation, I will send some LEN tokens to all participants of the live show! You can pair them with LENM tokens, add liquidity to the diesel pool, and earn rewards! If you want to learn more about the project behind it, check out the @liotes account or visit the Liotes website... Of course, if you are not interested in it, you can sell tokens on the Hive-Engine market...

To encourage more people to come on the mic, I have sent an additional 100 Ecency POINTS to people who shared their thoughts in voice with us (this time we had 2 participants in voice)! So POINTS are going to @pravesh0 and @incublus!

Special thanks goes to @melinda010100 and @good-karma for providing the space for the event!

Thank you for your time,
ph

I can't manage to get to the Hive Humpday Hangout on time, it's the 17th one in a row. Well, no matter when I can I listen to it. I agree about Consistency, but Adding Value is a separate story, which depends mainly on the perspective of the one who consumes the content ...

Thanks for checking out the post and the recordings! I know that the airtime of the show isn't perfect for everyone, but it's the best one that I could do...

The adding value that we were talking about wasn't too complicated... It was more about the opposite side, or timewasters who are leeching our time in the comment section with "automatic" replies...

Wise advice and approaches.

Consistency is the key and building relationships and relationships to increase the audience.

For me a good commentary is more valuable than upvotes although upvotes also bring joy whether we are in a bull or bear market.

Hehehe... That was exactly what I said in the show... :) Meaningful comments are much more valuable than the upvote itself, but it's nice to have them both!
Don't forget to check out the video in the post!

PS. I would like to ask you for a small favor... You were delegating HivePower to @liotes.voter in the past, but you removed the delegation, which is fine... The problem is that at the same time, there was a glitch with the HiveSQL database which we use for paying dividends... Somehow, your delegation is still written in the HiveSQL (despite your being undelegated) and because of that, other delegators receive lower payments...

There was just 1 other user who had the same issue and it was solved by changing the delegation amount... So, would you be able to delegate for example 0.001HP to @liotes.voter just to "reset" the system? After a few hours, you can remove the delegation...

It would mean a lot for us and other delegators...

Thanks in advance!!!

Delegation of 100HP realised but with the intention to maintain it.

I had stopped my delegations to make a power down for a possible emergency.

But now I have stopped it and I resume the support to the project.

Best regards.

Thanks for a great show. It was good to hear the different thoughts from the "core" group. There is always something new to learn in the shows where someone shares some interesting titbits.

I liked the small group and it was a lot of fun! Not just in the "official" part of the show, but also in the after-party! 😃

It's an interesting show and consistency is key. I think it depends on engagement. If you are taking part in giveaways or if you are on threads(or leomarkettalk) in the past, then it is catered towards shot form content. So I think it could be possible to get high comment counts if you focused on them. As for long form posts, it takes on average 4-5 minutes for me to get through a post and I don't see myself going through that many comments either.

It makes sense what you said... If it is on threads, it's possible to do it, but with long content not really...

Being consistent may seem like something difficult but it is really helpful

It is true that when we have been working on this platform for a long time, we interact with people very well and that is the only way to succeed on this platform. Second, every human being does hard work day and night.
