Maybe I was too optimistic about the idea of creating a show around profit-taking as not many are aware of the importance of it... Or, maybe because of that, it was a good move? 🤔 But, those who recognized the importance of discussing this topic were present and actively discussing it in the show! Oh, yes... It was Valentine's Day and many people had different plans for that day... 😍

Anyway, despite all that, we had a lot of fun at the show! We had a standard group of amazing people, and we learned a couple of new things... To be honest, I learned more than a couple! While I was listening to the recording to summarize things about the show in these words, I learned something new that I wasn't aware of during the show! As I said multiple times, I suck at multitasking and I need to focus to absorb and process the information... 😃

The idea for the show was to go by those points from the post about profit-taking trading strategies, that I mentioned in the announcement post, and modify them slightly for a better fit for us, as an ordinary small investors...

Some of the discussed strategies were

Time-based exit profit taking
Using the opposite signal
Using a fixed profit target
Fundamental exits

I have shared some of my mistakes from the previous 2 cycles where I was "participating" and where I had no idea what was going on... Some lessons I learned from that and shared with the audience... Of course, some lessons I will have to learn in the future too... :)

Those who had experience with investing shared their thoughts about the topic... @felixxx did that in voice, sharing some interesting facts about the experiment done on people, which was on the topic of investing, and risk-taking... In the comment section, @bulkathos shared his views on the topic too, and others did too...

In the end, we came to the same conclusion that the most important thing is to avoid EMOTIONAL ATTACHMENT to the investing asset! For the rest of the discussion, I suggest you check the video below...

Close to the end of the show, we went into different topics, so it was time to finish the "official recording", but everyone stayed for the after-show! We had an additional hour of fun discussing different topics from real estate in different countries, ridiculous laws, and immigration issues, to history talk about the Romans and Ottoman Empires... 😂 All in all, a lot of fun and some great learning lessons from first-hand!

TP TP TP too many people do not take profit!

I liken it to gambling either on the casino or at the race track. There will be times we lose and that is a fact. You want to be playing with the casino or bookmakers money. Get your capital back so you can move into another project if need be. Then for me it is often fixed profits, but emotions can get in the way. Mrs T is great she will walk away once she has made the designated x amount, even if she knows she is on a good streak.

All these people who keep saying hodl hodl oh I would never withdraw any of my crypto... I don't understand that, I mean what is this all about...

I will get on your show one day. @felixxx is a hoot and has some great experience.

I suppose that it depends on the view of the investor... Many people on HIVE view HIVE as a hobby, or just as a good way to earn pocket money... Very rarely you can notice people who are dedicated for the long term... Building their accounts, helping out others with curating, engaging with others...
On the other side, in the same way, the other part of people are "compounding to death"... Again, for the same reason as they are not dedicated to building a significant amount of investment, which would make things different... As it's not important, and it's only pocket money, we can forget about profit-taking...

It's complicated, but in some way, it's easy... and it's personal... Like with you and Mrs.T... She can just walk away with money, while you would like to try the lucky streak... 😃 I suppose that she is the right person to do finances at home... :)

The one thing about crypto and social media. We all do it differently, I know I make shit loads of mistakes and will do again, but they are my mistakes.

All we can do is share our experiences whether good or not so good and then people can do as they wish.

Due to previously purchased tickets for yesterday's concert (you already know which day 🙂), I missed the live that was important for me to hear.
Thanks for the video.
In the next two, tree days, I will find time to listen to the recording (with paper and pen) and hear experiences that will surely help me in developing a strategy for this, my first exit from the bear.

I finally managed to watch the recording of the live 🙂
You and Felixxx had a great story. You shared a lot of useful tips (both crypto and real estate).
For me, this is the first bull run I enter after bear. I wouldn't say my first one was the one in 2021 because I was a friend asking about crypto...that's when I got in, very high... I think that your option for the plan (4) each is OK for me, with the fact that we should keep in mind what Felixxx said, keep in mind that it will be possible to enter later with a lower price. for this reason, my plan is as follows: I don't touch everything I plan to leave long term. for the part that I plan to sell, I go out in stages with a certain percentage.

It depends on your goals, your accumulation point, etc. Even if you keep accumulating in the first cycle, it shouldn't be the end of the world... :)
I was accumulating through 2 cycles... The first one as I wanted to, and the second one as I didn't have a profit-taking plan... lol...

I've also come to realize that emotional attachment is the main reason why some of us suck at taking profit. I prefer using a fixed profit target, hit the numbers and get out :)

There are so many people who have been saying hodl in cryptocurrency and at the end of the day, they never get to withdraw what they have even till they lose their lives so it is always better take profit and keep working more and make sure that you also save

Very good show, those are some interesting discussions in the show. I think you touched on some good points at the end, a home is not just a financial desicion, it has some other human factors. But outside of your own home, it does make sense to try to not be emotionally connected.

The most important factor in the crypto market is that we all have to make profits over time or else we end up in losses, so it is better to take profits when there is a good profit. Then one must wait for a good opportunity.
