LEO&HODL Contest - The New UI of LeoFinance

There have been numerous talks and observations as regards the #newUI recently, especially given the time it's being launched. There has been a lot of speculation as to the importance it will brings to blogging and other activities in the community.

For me, I will say that the new UI is indeed a success, especially when it comes to how easy microblogging(threads) is now in the community. I must say that the Leofinance team has indeed taken their time to put in an interface that provides easy access to the Leo community.

What is your first impression of the new UI?

How effective will this be? That was my first impression. Even after joining the lunch party and hearing so many ways that make it easy to use, I was still very reserved and hoping to see how effective it would be compared to the old interface. The old one might have gone finally, but for some purpose I still carried out some visibility studies to see what has changed and the level of progress that the community has made in the new UI compared to what the old one used to produce.

Why do you think this version is better or worse than the previous form?

For a start, there is definitely something that needs to be fixed in any new initiative or project. For me, having a project free of errors at its first release is always hard to find, and that's what this new UI is currently facing such too.

The pros of the new UI

I will say the main purpose for which this new UI was created has been achieved by the team: promoting short-form content called #threads and giving users the ability to log on to the community with different means.

Today, microblogging has taken a new shift In the community, threads is now becoming a life, or, I should say, a day-to-day activity in the community, even with the new UI, once you log on, the first section that pops up is the threads page, which means more attention as indeed being diverted to that side.

Engagement : For me, engagement has indeed taken on a new level via the new UI. I will say that with threads now on the new UI, there will definitely be an increase in the number of Leofinance monthly active users and engagement figures too.

Easy login : With the new UI, easy access to login is absolutely one of the progress made too. As important as your hive keys are, Leofinance is also giving you the avenue to log in with your registered Twitter or Facebook account. This, for me, is indeed one of the reasons why this new UI stands out.

The cons of the new UI

I really don't have much to say, though there are a few things that need to be discussed and thanks to the Leofinance team for giving us an opportunity to get back to them on what needs to be fixed in the new UI.

Recently on threads, I provided feedback that there are no features for copying links, and not just that alone; re-blog features don't come with this either, which is indeed one thing that didn't really go well with me.

With this new UI, some attention has been diverted from long-form content, which has now made long post a bit harder with the new interface. Recently, I have had issues replying to long-form content posted and posting content too.

For me, I honestly think that the new UI center's focus is wholly on threads alone, and other interesting #features on the old one are left out, which is causing numerous glitches today.

How can new Lions engage with the new UI?

Threads, for me, are the best escape route at the moment. One of the best ways to grow and build an audience with capacity right now in the community is via threads. For me, it will definitely connect you with plenty of users and help in building relationships too.

New Lions should go all out for threads and engage daily; that will also help them grow faster in the community. The best way to grow and earn on Leo is to engage with other users and discuss quality issues too.

What are the best features of the new version**?

There are absolutely plenty of fascinating features in the new UI, but I will definitely mention those I have used recently.

Easy access via Twitter and Facebook

Imagine having the opportunity to log in to the community by just connecting your Twitter and Facebook accounts to your Leo account. This will absolutely reduce the worries that come with losing your hive keys, but for me, I still advise that you keep your hive keys very well. but for me it's indeed a great feature on the new UI

A frontend with easy access

With the new interface, you don't have to look for features before accessing them; everything you need to do or use is absolutely installed on the front page of the new UI, so you can access wallets and threads without having to stress yourself at all.

The new UI improves threads .

The new UI was purposely designed to promote microblogging in the community, and right now, engagement on threads is very fast and smooth, which means users can now join the community and post whatever they choose to post faster and better than ever before.

Ability to show the types of threads you want to see

With the new UI, you can select the types of threads you would like to see: all threads, including those with links, or threads without links. This is one of the features the new UI comes with.

Setting the vote weight to 5%

This is to help you automatically set your vote weight on threads. Enabling this new feature on a thread will definitely give a 5% vote to any or all threads you upvote, which means it takes away the stress of having to think of the weight of the vote to give to threads while voting them.

It's good to share my view on the new UI, and thanks for the #leocontest for another exciting topic this week. This is my entry for the contest.
