Bad Smell in the Neighborhood

The month of Ramadan has come and gone as at today, every muslim is celebrating the Eid al-Fitr celebration and it is a public holiday here in my home country. It is a good opportunity to relax and a good way to spend some times moving around the town. Since there will be less traffic congestion on the way. I love a smooth journey. Nothing interest me more than moving in a road without traffic as it saves time and less stress to drive on a road without traffic.

In the spirit of the holiday I decided to visit a colleague who is a Muslim. We discussed about politics, the present country's failure as well as what they have done right so far. We argued football and discussed the financial market. At the end of it all he mentioned and offensive smell within the environment. We decided to look around we called the attention of his neighbor's security person and asked if he observed any smell. His response was no. We asked if we can to look around, he consented. On getting inside we saw this unused swimming pool.

This swimming looks unkept and unused and wondered why a pool owner will abandon this. Though the house owner is not around. My friend said he will give him a call to find a lasting solution to this abandoned swimming pool. My personal worry is the fact that why build what you not need or what you cannot maintain. Swimming pool makes houses beautiful and complement buildings. However the exact opposite is the case of this particular one. It looks dirty, dry and unkept. Even the gutter there looks not flowing. I told my friend to ensure he contact the house owner before things gets out of hands and the entire environment becomes unlivable.

I told my friend if the house owner does not want to do the needful he should involve the community and the police if possible because he has the right to a healthy environment.
