My CineTV Guilty Pleasures

I was thinking of television shows and movies earlier today that I really, really enjoy but am embarrassed about loving them. This of course led me to make a confession and a query in the CineTV Discored about what movies and television the CineTV family love but are ashamed of and then that inspired our Social Media Manager, @thisismylife, to make it into our daily Twitter Prompt and then that inspired me to write a post about he whole thing!!!

So recently I found myself searching through Hulu and avoiding landing on It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia. I had watched almost all the episodes from previous seasons, but had broken away from this shameful guilty pleasure and resolved not to return. The main issue I have is that the humor at times becomes so vulgar and the use of profanity so gratuitous that I actually physically cringe at times when watching episodes. What makes me so made about it is that it is so brilliantly written that it would be just as entertaining without crossing the line that it seems to have some unwritten challenge to cross on a frequent basis. Well my resolve to avoid this show weakened over and over until I find myself binging episodes again and trying to keep from letting people know I'm watching it lololol

As far as movies go, I guess my most embarrassing movies would be The Twilight franchise...lololo....I am a huge sucker for anything vampire and the strong love story aspect of it made it something my daughter loved and it was a film series we could enjoy together and bond over. We have a ton of movies that are just for us, such as The Hunger Games franchise, Grease, and many many more.

Alright, I am done embarrassing myself (about movies and tv shows) for the present time and ask you the same question I did to our Discord group: What movies and television shows do you love but are embarrassed that you do? Let me know in the comments. Thanks for reading and remember that I love you all and you all possess so much value and greatness!

I've never watched the twilight films, but I had to laugh at a mate of mine who confessed he read and loved the books. He's a big farmer kind of guy so it seemed weird to me that he'd snuggle up with a book and pretend Edward was courting him hahaha.

I have to say though for all the bad things Sunny has done in their episodes I still love that show. They're such scumbags but it's refreshing I think, for people to portray characters like that. Especially seeing them in interviews or even their podcast and how different they are in real life. I love the explosions of Dennis. "I AM THE GOLDEN GOD!"

There's one film that is a real stinker, which I think is great and even have the special edition blu ray of it. 10,000 BC, I watched it shortly after it came out and thought "Cool a caveman movie." Then I really liked it, until I realised I was suppose to hide my shame. I don't mind admitting it though because I think it's actually okay.

As for a TV show, I have binged a lot of a show called Four in a Bed on Amazon. Which is where four hotel/ BnB owners have to stay at each others establishements and rate them, to choose a winner. The catch is each of their hand written reviews get discussed in the final episode and a lot of drama ensues over a misplaced hair on a toilet seat. Me and my girlfriend use it as our go to bingey show. And it's glorious. But, I wouldn't shout it from the rooftops haha

The show is just SOOOO funny, even with my shame I watch it. Hey! What's wrong with 10,000 BC lololol

My wife and I watched a similar show that was set in Australia where vacation home owners did the same thing. It got real nasty on some episodes and the people were very unique to say the least lololol

So wait...Twilight...you want to watch Edward sparkle? lol That is a good submission for this topic. Thanks for being vulnerable and sharing that.

The interesting thing about the Twilight saga is that Robert Pattinson really does seem to be a vampire; he has recently turned into a bat!

Excellent observation! I was recently watching Water for Elephants and I just have a hard time seeing him as anything other than Edward lololol

Oh papa... You liking twilight is an Oof but the reasons and the bonding with your daughter turns it even more sweet and sparkly than Edward! ❤️ XD

About IASIP, i want to watch it SO MUCH but there isn't a single streaming platforms that has it here (Hulu isn't available in Brazil :,D) I love the scene where Danny Débito fakes being an art critic XD

I guess my guilty pleasure would be Zohan, it's bad, sometimes antisemitic and really close to homophobic. But it is so funny in Portuguese XD (thanks to Adam Sandler official voice actor here)

Thanks for the comment. I just saw that episode last week and I was about to die laughing at his version of an art critic....too funny. I was just about to read your entry into this week's contest when I saw this notification, so let me run over there and see what magic you concocted!

I really enjoyed sharing it with my daughter. We have a ton of movies that we only watch with each other! Our own little movie club, I guess. lololol

Oh you mean, The Twilight Saga, from the books? Where Bella falls in love with Edward? If you wonder if it´s one of my guilty pleasures, I have to disappoint you. I´ve never even seen it ... but recently I stumbled across the story and said to my partner that we should watch this!

He didn´t agree, tho ... so I guess I have to watch it alone sometime

I would definitely recommend them. Now, mind you, they are not Citizen Kane or The Godfather but fairly entertaining! lolol

Tbf, I can admit to liking the Twilight books as the story is actually written really well...
HOWEVER I know it's been memed a lot and this only my own opinion of it so everyone is free to do with it as they like, but imo even PimpMyRide is a better love Story than the twilight movies. I know I have crossed a line there that i generally do not cross by compring the books to the movie, but Twilight made challenged itself one every corner of not do the books justice.
About your question I am not ashamed to admit to liking anything I've watched, going from happy tree friends through sailormoon to youtubepoopvideos - It made sense at that time xD

Always Sunny can be a brilliant show but I agree, sometimes it can get so bogged down in its profane dialogue and desire for disgusting imagery that I can only watch maybe two or three episodes at a time, four if I’m lucky.

There is no doubt of the comedic genius this show possesses, but I agree with you that it can be overshadowed by the unnecessary content. Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Nonsense.

We all know the real reason for you to watch Twilight is for Charlie Swan.
