A long time ago, when cell phones were just beginning to be marketed in the city of Caracas and in the middle of Halloween festivities, a group of friends went out to have fun and decided to go to the movies to see the horror movie of the moment which was Poltergeist III.

Hace mucho tiempo atrás, cuando apenas estaban empezando a salir al mercado los teléfonos celulares en la ciudad de Caracas y en plenas festividades de Halloween, un grupo de amigos salió a divertirse y decidió ir al cine a ver la película de terror del momento que era Poltergeist III.

In the group of friends, there was a boy who was the youngest named Juan, who had been very impressed with the film, in fact, when leaving the movie theater, he did not want to see the mirrors, since he had been really impressed with the images of the film, which caused the rest of the group of young people, began to tease him and mock.

En el grupo de amigos, había un muchacho que era el más joven de nombre Juan, el cual había quedado muy impresionado con la película, de hecho, al salir de la sala de cine, no quería ver los espejos, dado que había quedado realmente impresionado con las imágenes del film, lo que provocó que el resto del grupo de jóvenes, comenzara a molestarle y a burlarse.

After leaving the cinema, as almost all the groups of young people at that time, the boys, went out to eat some hamburgers and comment on the film, besides that, they began to talk about topics related to the film they had just seen, among them, the theme of death, ghosts, life after death, hell, heaven and stop counting everything that was discussed that night.

Después de salir del cine, como casi todos los grupos de jóvenes en esa época, los muchachos, salieron a comer unas hamburguesas y comentar la película, además de eso, empezaron a conversar, sobre temas relacionados a la película que recién habían visto, entre ellos, el tema de la muerte, los fantasmas, la vida después de la muerte, el infierno, el cielo y pare de contar todo lo que se comentó esa noche.

The truth is that after eating and talking, the group went to the building where they lived, since besides being a group of friends, they were all neighbors, and of course, on the way they all began to bother Juan, to scare him and talk about things like the devil, hell, death, demons, and so on.

Lo cierto, es que después de comer y conversar, el grupo se fue al edificio donde vivían, ya que además de ser un grupo de amigos, eran todos vecinos, y claro, en el camino todos comenzaron a molestar a Juan, a meterle miedo y hablar de cosas como el diablo, el infierno, la muerte, los demonios, y pare de contar.

Juan, was really impressed by the movie, besides that, they had influenced him a lot with all the stories told by his friends, added to their macabre games and the conversations at the end of the road to the house, which took a very serious tone when they started talking about portals to other dimensions and life after death.

Juan, estaba realmente impresionado por la película, además de eso, lo habían influenciado bastante con todos relatos realizados por sus amigos, sumado a sus juegos macabros y las conversaciones al final del camino a la casa, las cuales tomaron un matiz muy serio cuando comenzaron a conversar sobre portales a otras dimensiones y la vida después de la muerte.

So, when the group arrived at the building, Juan did not want to go home alone, so the group decided to continue the meeting and go play Monopoly at Raul's house.

Así, que cuando el grupo llegó al edificio, Juan no quería irse solo a su casa, por lo que el grupo decidió seguir la reunión e irse a jugar monopolio a la casa de Raúl.

When the young people arrived at Raul's house, he opened the door, and invited his friends in, the first one to enter was Juan, but before another person from the group entered, that is, when only a few seconds had passed since Juan entered the house, a horrible scream of terror was heard.

Cuando los jóvenes llegaron a la casa de Raúl, él abrió la puerta, e invitó a pasar a sus amigos, el primero en entrar fue Juan, pero antes de que entrara otra persona del grupo, es decir, cuando apenas habían pasado unos segundos desde que Juan entrara a la casa, se escuchó un grito de terror horrible.

Hearing this, the whole group was frightened, and they rushed into the apartment. When they had all entered, they were shocked and frightened, the scene seen at that moment was as if it had been made for the movie they had just finished watching. In Raul's house, there was a huge full-length mirror, with a wooden frame and carved metal, in the mirror was the reflection of the image of a woman somewhat deformed by the play of shadows, with a robe, which reached her ankles and loose hair that fell over her shoulders, surrounded by the dim light of the kitchen lamp.

Al oír esto, todo el grupo se asustó, entró de manera estrepitosa al apartamento. Cuando hubieron entrado todos, se impresionaron y asustaron, realmente la escena vista en ese momento, era como si la hubiesen mandado a hacer para la película que recién habían terminado de ver. En la casa de Raúl, había un enorme espejo de cuerpo entero, con marco de madera y metal labrado, en el espejo se veía el reflejo de la imagen de una mujer algo deformada por el juego de sombras, con una bata, que le llegaba a los tobillos y el pelo suelto que le caía sobre los hombros, rodeada de la luz tenue de la lámpara de la cocina.

The truth is that if the group had not seen the film, the image would not have made such an impact on them. An impact that provoked exclamations of horror from those present, to the occasional vulgarity provoked by fear and a "My God" accompanied by a scream from one of the girls.

La verdad es que si el grupo no hubiese visto la película, la imagen no los hubiese impactado tanto. Impacto que provocó desde exclamaciones de horror de los presentes, hasta una que otra vulgaridad provocada por el miedo y un “Dios mío” acompañado de un grito de una de las muchachas.

The situation ended when Raul's older brother came out of his room and turned on the light, at that moment Gustavo, the older brother, stared at the members of the group and said "Well, what is wrong with you people", it was then when we saw how Raul's mother (who was the woman whose image was reflected in a disfigured way in the mirror), approached Juan and took his arm with great delicacy and affection, he had tears in his eyes, he did not stop trembling and his look was lost in nothingness.

La situación terminó, cuando el hermano mayor de Raúl, salió de su cuarto y encendió la luz, en ese momento Gustavo, el hermano mayor, se le quedó mirando a los integrantes del grupo y dijo “Bueno que es lo que les pasa a ustedes”, fue entonces cuando vimos como la mamá de Raúl, (que era la mujer cuya imagen se reflejaba de manera desfigurada en el espejo), se acercó a Juan y lo tomó con mucha delicadeza y cariño del brazo, él tenía lágrimas en los ojos, no dejaba de temblar y su mirada se perdía en la nada.

None of those present, only Raul's mother and Gustavo, his eldest son, had realized the reality that had been generated at that moment, and it was none other than that Juan was in a state of shock and terrible panic, not only was he shaking, but he had peed himself with fear and did not make a sound.

Ninguno de los presentes, únicamente la mamá de Raúl y Gustavo, su hijo mayor, se habían dado cuenta de la realidad, que se había generado en ese momento, y no era otra que Juan se encontraba en estado de shock y pánico terrible, no únicamente estaba temblando, sino que se había orinado de miedo y no emitía ningún sonido.

That was the first time that all those boys saw what a panic attack was and the consequences that their macabre games had generated in an innocent mind on a Halloween night.

Esa fue la primera vez que todos esos muchachos, veían lo que era un ataque de pánico y las consecuencias que habían generado sus juegos macabros, en una mente inocente, en una noche de Halloween.
