My everyday life is usually occupied with one thing or another. I spend most of my time on my phone and PC, though, and they happen to be what I use to unwind most of the time. So, when I am not working, getting productive, or chatting, here are a few apps that I spend my time on for leisure.
I have been playing chess for more than a decade now. Before I knew it was possible to play online with other people from around the world and different countries, I only played on an actual board with my friends in school. Online chess was a superb find at some point, and then playing chess became a hobby and my getaway thing to do.
I have used many chess apps, but the ones that I prefer are Chess.com and Lichess. The Elo ratings are way better (sorta) on Lichess, so I just hung there more, and many of my people use that more, so sparring is easier.
Without going into nerdy details, when I want to, you know, chill, I just open the app, pick a time-control, and play until heaven knows when.
At this time of writing, my girlfriend is actually surprised that I play video games. There once was a time when I would jump from Lichess and Call of Duty Mobile and spend most of my day there. These days, I don't spend much time on games any more and just work.
There are often many modes to play in CODM, but my favourite is Battle Royal. For 15 minutes, I'd be locked on to my screen, navigating a wipe map of areas to shoot, kill, and win with different guns, ammo, vehicles, and all.
I no longer play the game like I used to, but I visit it once in a while to cool off. I'd like to play it a lot more these days.
Listening to music is always an everday thing for me. I had to graduate from the default music player that came with phone to Spotify at some point, as downloading and listening to music became a hassle with time.
I not only listen to music on Spotify. There are a few podcasts that I enjoy and listen to on Spotify, and they are another reason why I go to Spotify.
Spotify has a great UI, a good algorithm, and streams a lot of podcast shows. In the middle of work or anything, I could have Spotify play me some songs or podcast episodes, especially when I'm relaxing.
It would be an utter injustice not to mention Netflix. I watch films a lot. Getting films started feeling laborious over third-party sites, so I chose to subscribe to Netflix's services to cut me a lot of time and effort to get the films that I want, and that's where I go when I'm feeling like it.
They do not have all the films available, but their catalogue is wide, and they have a pretty good UI. That's what wins me over Prime Video. Netflix and chill, you know, and I'm long gone...
I watch a variety of videos on YouTube. When it comes to leisure, you'll find me watching videos from channels like Mr Beast, Marques Brownlee, Mrwhosetheboss, and the like.
When it comes to relaxation, I don't always have to watch something funny or sort of I can find insightful and informative posts that help me clear my mind.
Of course, I still have to deal with ads, since I am not paying for YouTube premium, but I got used to them.
And there we have it, Jay's digital unwinders? Yeah... Inspired by the #juneinleo prompt by InLeo for the day.

I don’t think I have seen a guy who doesn’t have Call of Duty, even some girls play it. I only play the ones on PS.
The only app I am not really familiar with is Chess.. I knew how to play it a little, some time back but I can’t even remember now, all I know is there are queen, king, soldiers and priest 😂
These are nice ways to spend a leisure time
It's the girls that play Call of Duty that surprise me. But I meet them every now and then during gameplay.
Soldiers and priest?? Lmao 😂 e remain horse
It's chess that I know that ladies scarcely play.
What about Lizzy's unwinding apps? Hmm...
Not too surprised you love mobile games. Difficult to abstain when you are much of a tech guy. It's always good to have some unwinding time, you know the old saying, 'all work no play and Jack is out of productive mode'. Lols just garnished the proverbs, I guess you still understand it.
I love mobile games. I was a total nerd for them as a child.
I saw what you did with the quote, man. 😁 And it's valid. What about your unwinding apps? Perhaps we'll see them in the community, too.
Not too much of app enthusiasts. Anyway I do love some music (gospel specific) to cool off. Just make sure I connect my phone to my player and off I go
So you are a fan of Call of Duty and I am the one who never installed it anytime. I thought to install it but somehow I delayed it again and again. I like chess game but I almost forgot when the last time I played it. I am thinking of restarting playing the chess game.
I also hesitated a lot before starting Call of Duty Mobile. I didn't understand what my friends saw in it then. But here I am now...
I'm down for a game of chess if you'd like that. It you want to learn and get back in shape, you can install Chess.com app. It has good lessons there.
Ah ah... I get to see what the man Jay does. Honestly, I don't think I am surprised. All these apps you mentioned seem so you...
I know you weren't surprised. Lol. They are so me, of course...😁
