Hi fellow Splinterfans! or if you're not yet a fun but interested in Splinterlands (why else would you read this post šŸ˜) welcome back to my weekly Splinterlands Blog, where I will be blogging every week about this great game that I'm playing daily now for over 2.5 years, and still having fun :)

I made a Social Media Challenge post just before this post, did you read it?, it's about countering the new Daarg Deadblast meta.

With the Splinterlands challenges, we get a different topic every week to make a blog or video about and earn some little extra money this way, and maybe not even little, depending where in the world you are! By making two blogs every week, I'm earning $40-60 every month which I can use to build my Splinterlands accounts, making the two blogs takes me about 3 to 4 hours every week.
This weeks Battle Mage Secrets challenge is about the Born Again ruleset, in which every monster get resurrected once after it's killed in battle.

All units receive the Rebirth ability which allows them to self resurrect once.

In my Splinterlands cheat sheet I made, which has a overview of certain rulesets with reminders what to play, because there are SO MANY strategies, I just forget some over time, when I look at the Born Again ruleset, it says: Void Armor - Martyr - Scavenge - BLOODLUST.

To experienced Splinterlands players this makes sense of course, for the newer players, let's explain this a little..

  • Void Armor: When a unit with Void Armor dies, it resurrects with only 1 HP but with full armor, which is a pain to get trough all over again.
  • Martyr: Position the Martyr card well to hopefully boost the two surrounding cards twice, if you're lucky it gets hit by a snipe or opportunity card, if not, it gets to the front eventually and still boosts the card behind it.
  • Scavenge: Because every card that dies and resurrects and then dies again give +1 HP to the scavenge monster, it can really pay off to out a small mana monster somewhere safely tucked away in the middle of your team, when it reaches the tank position, is already has scavenged a good amount of HP and is often at at least 8HP or even more.
  • Bloodlust: Pair this with the martyr unit to get the bloodlust going, once it gears up, it's hard to stop!

For this post I want to share a battle I fought in the Wild League, it's a 38 mana Born Again / Silenced Summoner battle with only the Fire splinter locked out, which leaves a lot of options open, when you have a skilled opponent that rotates then previously played team so you can't tell what to expect him (or her) to play this time, you can only make your best available team for the current ruleset, and use the pointers on my cheat sheet šŸ˜

Pro tip: Knowing your opponent wants to use a martyr card most of the times too, and it is probably in the middle of his team to boost the two adjacent cards, you want to avoid using opportunity or snipe monsters in this ruleset!

First look at the battlefield:

Oh nice! I like to see older teams, they're not as common as most teams you see every battle, since I didn't knew what to expect, I just made my own all star team lol, with the Silenced Summoner ruleset, the summoner doesn't do anything, I this was the lowest mana summoner at this level I had, using the tank he did is a mistake in my opinion, 1 magic hit will kill it, it's a great tank for when magic is locket out or my super sneak battles, just not for now...
Maybe my opponent is an older account played by a bot - who knows? there are too many mistakes for a human player I think... let's analyze and learn (for the newer players reading this)

  • first mistake: the 1HP tank...
  • second mistake: not using a martyr card in a Born Again ruleset...
  • third mistake: using a sniper, he's helping me, killing my martyr, thanks for that!

He has WAY more HP on the battlefield though... 36 vs. 27 and he is nerfing my magic with silence (nice card!) so hopefully my Void Armor tank and Bloodlust monster makes up for these disadvantages.

My Line-Up:

  • Summoner: Thadius Brood - reason: Lowest mana at this level, and it's Gold Foil for a 10% boost if I win.
  • First position: Legionnaire Alvar - reason: Void Armor.
  • Second position: Venari Marksrat - reason: Martyr.
  • Third position: Usut - reason: Bloodlust.
  • Fourth position: Soulstorm - reason: Fast and flying so very evasive.
  • Fifth position: Undead Archer - reason: Low mana good damage with affliction to counter healing.
  • Sixth position: Silent Sha-Vi - reason: Nice sneaker.

The Battle:

Round 1: Well his tank took quite a few hits anyway because the only magic monster I have is really slow so last to fire, but Usut did got the kill this way, starting it's bloodlust, and already boosted once by my martyr that was shot by Twisted Jester, thanks for that!

image.png

Round 2: My tank is still alive and Usut's bloodlust is gearing up very nice, at 5 damage already, getting to the point where it no longer can be stopped without a enemy dispel monster, I do have to eat through a lot of HP though.

image.png

Round 3: My tank finally died and got resurrected with full Void Armor again - 10 armor and 1 HP the enemy has to get trough once more, not much has changed since the last round.

image.png

Round 4: The Cube died, but my tank is also about to get killed for the second time, which is fine since Usut already has a nice amount of HP and damage.

image.png

Round 5: With 4 speed and being Legendary, Usut will be the first to fire this round, getting another kill and cancelling the Silence, so getting 2 extra magic damage with that kill, it's unstoppable now.

image.png

Round 6: It's just a matter of time now, since I'm doing way more damage and I've got more HP on the battlefield too.

image.png

Round 7: The only enemy monster left is an archer, unable to fire from the first position, so that's a win after it's killed, got resurrected and gets killed again šŸ˜

Usut finished the battle with 9 damage and 8 speed, good luck killing that šŸ˜‡

only 0.23 SPS in Wild League, but that's ok, Wild is more fun to play I think, Modern is more rewarding for SPS, not for chests.

You can watch the battle unfold for yourself here.

Well that's my blogging work for this week! at least, the most of it, sometimes I make extra smaller posts when I have extra time, but these two takes up the most amount of time, hopefully it's not for nothing! šŸ¤‘
