Celebrating a birthday on February 29th of a leap year - LOH #174

Greetings ladies

This week I will be answering question two of the #ladiesofhive community.

2024 is a leap year! If you were born on February 29th of a leap year, what do you like or dislike about it? How do you celebrate your birthday? If you weren't, would you want to be? Tell us why you would or would not, and also how you would celebrate it.

First of all, I am glad to have escaped being born on February 29th and also escaping birthing my three kids on the same day. Sincerely, I dislike having anything so important to me that worth remembering to do with February 29th, the leap year. The fact that I am the type that loves celebrating memories makes me dislike life-related events on February 29, knowing that recognizing such memories will happen once every four years.

Since I became an adult, I haven't seen people hosting events like marriage ceremonies and other vital festivals on the said date, perhaps due to the same reason as mine.

I wasn't born on February 29th, and I wouldn't want to be born on that day because my birth day is so important to me, and having the opportunity to observe the day yearly to express gratitude, acknowledge my growth so far, and celebrate life will be self-fulfilling. Many people do not really value birthdays so much and may not care if they were born on a leap year or not, but unlike me, it's usually a day I look up to as I see improvement in different areas of my life with each passing year. I get to notice a growth in both my career and relationships with people, learning new skills and achieving personal goals. All these and more make my birthday worth celebrating every year as I continue to acknowledge my existence on this earth.

But then, if I were to be born on a leap year, the Feb 29, this is how I would celebrate it:

Note: I wouldn't want to choose February 28 or March 1 to recognize my birthday yearly because no matter how I try to paint it in order to have a yearly celebration, it doesn't just add up, so I will keep looking up to the leap year to recognize my big day in a special way, and to mark the day, I would celebrate it by:

Having a spiritual exercise where I will recognize my creator who brought me from my mom's womb, praise him for who he is, and declare his splendor

Writing a letter to my future self, acknowledging that I am a year older, taking on new responsibility, and setting goals for myself in the next four years

It will also be a time to bond with friends and family with a little get-together with nice treats and heartfelt wishes, which will definitely be self-fulfilling coming from the ones I love.

This is an idea of how I would wish to celebrate my birthday if it falls on Feb 29 of a leap year, but definitely not my wish to be born on February 29, even in my next world.

Although my birthday is not so important to me but I also do not like to celebrate my birthday on the 29th February. But there exists an interesting and fun fact and it is when others celebrate a 4th birthday, you will celebrate your 1st birthday. Just imagine your age will be divided by 4 and you can get the opportunity to be young for a long time.🤣🤣.!LOL

I met a woman who was born on February 29, and I think that was one of the factors that caused her to be somewhat bitter. Good writing, good reflection that you share with us. Greetings and happy week

I can't tell you if it's dangerous or not, what must be sad is eating birthday cake every 4 years, hahahaha. And yes, this person I knew was bitter, with a bad character.

Feb 28th and March 1 would suit me fine too. For me I'd rather be Oct 31st 🎃
