Inspired by stevevc triathlon mate's speed work recommendation. I tried to modify my Thursday morning tune up session into 800m on and 200m easy.
Usually I would struggle with that sort of an effort early morning just after waking up but it's just a matter of adjusting your effort to where ever your at and how your feeling.
Though I did struggle to hold consistent pace and form on a mostly flat/downhill 800m then a recovery jog 200m up hill it felt really good.
I suppose in the big picture, aiming for a faster parkrun 5km time. I really need to work on my top end speed above my average 5km pace for short busts as well as practicing my 5km target pace for slightly long intervals.
