My Christmas Decorations

Greetings Collectors!

It was great to be presented about the community in one of the Hive Humpday Hangout shows and therefore I thought I could present one of my first collections.

Although Christmas has finished for us now and it is time to take down the decorations, I thought I would share our current collection. We have quite a few boxes of decorations and I don't know how we have gotten so much. This year I agreed with my wife that we would not be adding to the collection as we are getting short of storage space.

We have an extensive selection of baubels and stars for decorating the tree as you can see here. My wife also likes to wrap the bead chains round it too.

The christmas tree now looks quite bare without decorations on. We have a fake one for I think nearly 15 years now. We have brought this tree with us from Argos I think. I prefer the fake one to the real one as it cleaner, but you do miss out on that pine tree smell. I know it is also tradition to put candles in the trees here, so I am always worried about fires around christmas time.

The first things to be changed are the pillow covers on the sofa, then we know it is christmas time. My favorite ones are the dark red ones as they are a nice texture material and good to lay on.

Next up we have the dining table decorations. Previously we have had a christmas table cloth, but now we go more for just a table runner to give the more wooden table effect. We also have the electric candles that you switch on for each advent.

Next up and a staple of most christmas decorations I am sure, is the front door christmas wreath. Here we have a fake one with some nice red berries. This makes the front door nice and decorative.

Next we start with some decorations proper. Here we have some nice dishes tastefully decorated by Mrs FIRE and the back dish has a decorative tree that you can switch on and lights up in the evening. As we have darker nights, this can go on early to mid-afternoons already. The front dish has a decorative candle that we never light, even though we are big candle fans.

Next we have some decorative items in the dining room. A fake plant, this one has luckily survived as my son managed to destroy the other one by accident. We also have a little tray with a glass angel in it. You can put some tea candles in here if you want to have some light.

Back to the living room and I am particularly happy with some of these things as they are ones I have personally chosen. Usually if I grab something my wife doesn't like, it somehow disappears out of sight. Here we have a cool reindeer and a tree and star from wood with a tasteful red outer coloring.

We also have a tray that my wife decoratively filled with baubels and acorns. The red tealight glasses can have tealights in for some extra christamassy lighting if desired.

Finally we have a vase with some silver effect decorations. The bottom of the vase has some colored stones in it.

Still in the living room, we have a decorative lantern with baubels and some extra lights added. We have burning incense, but this is regardless of the season. We have some decorative tree and houses with added lighting. Plus fake candle for more light effects. My wife went abit light mad last year and so when it gets dark, we have lots of nice lighting around, although it does use up some batteries.

Here you can also see the calendars that the kids had this year.

Further in the living room, we had some cool figures with the hats. I really love these cute red hats, I even bought some door stop ones, they have a cool nordic feel to it. We hang the kids gift socks here and there are also some decorative frames that my wife created.

Here you can see the rest of that shelf. The tinsel has fallen down a couple of times, but after a little adjustment, has stayed up fine now.

Those were our main christmas decorations collection and I hope you liked them. I want to try and save some space in the cellar, but with these decorations, it is hard to get rid of any of them as you can imagine, even if it is to be more minimalist and save space.

Thanks for reading.

Those pillows on the sofa are looking cozy and comfortable. I want them as gift 😉😉.
Electric candles were looking like real candles. I should buy them and then I will set them in my hostel.

Thanks, the pillows are very comfortable, great for leaning on when using the sofa 😀. The electric candles are much safer than real ones, I find them flickering quite good still though.

You've got such a cool pillows!!! I'd love them most from all the post... (perhaps). But the other stuff is nice too. A lot of things to create the proper Christmas mood. But where are the masks and Santa's hat??! 🙃 I am a bit lazy to make such a post myself, we have put some decorations on the door, windows and curtains... but there arent so much as you presented 😎 !DHEDGE and !PIZZA, as always.

Yeah, the pillows are pretty cool I think and bring an extra special effect for christmas time. We don't really have any santa masks or hat. We did have a santa suit for when the kids were abit younger, but no longer have it now, santa ate too many pies.

That would be cool to see your decorations if you get motivated. 😀

Lovely decor, and the 15 years tree is paying for itself by now isn't it? Don't think the real one would tag along for so long. I've seen quite a few Christmas decorations in the Christmas market, but the real stuff costs quite a bit. Are the plastic ones any cheaper?

Thanks, the tree has certainly paid for itself many times over. It takes up some storage space in the cellar, but is also alot less hassle of buying and disposing of a real tree. We were also living on a budget, so it has helped to save a little with a fake one.

The plastic decorations are pretty cheap, there are lots of sales on, especially if you shop around and after season sales.

The decoration is eye-catching. You and your wife have a good taste of beautifications. I wish I can replicate some of the ideas. Lovely!

We have quite a few boxes of decorations and I don't know how we have gotten so much.

Heheehe... It's probably like that in every home... We had 1 box when we moved to Spain, and we have like 3-4 today... lol... But, looking at your photos, I would say that our boxes are smaller... 😂

I'm glad it is not just me who's collection is growing. We have some pretty big boxes. 😅

Whoa, you got a ton of Christmas decorations! I like it - at least as long as they are in someone else's house - hahaha. The pillows are very neat. Argos? Where is that? You sound like my American husband who could never get into the (German) Christmas tree with real candles. In the end, we settled for a real tree with those wire string lights, droplets - they're not the real thing but cute..

😅 I was not planning to have so many, but it just sort of happened. Those light droplets are cute and safer than the tree candles! Hehe

Argos is a special UK shop that sells everything. It was useful before Amazon and the internet took over.

These look good, man. We used to decorate the school for Christmas, it was fun. I've never decorated my own house for Christmas, but I'll do it in the future. If our house is beautiful in the new year, maybe it will be beautiful throughout the year.

The good part about not putting decorations in my house is that we don't have to pick them up afterwards. 🤣 But I have to admit that they give a beautiful ambient, yours looks great. 😌
