Holidays without an increase in the cost of living are better.

As beautiful as the holiday looks, there are some traditions that I personally do not like at all. We all agreed that holidays are so beautiful and nice, and everyone will want them. But at the same time, there are so many things that I don't understand.

The cost of things during the holidays is extremely high. This tradition is so annoying that it makes me hate holidays sometimes because, honestly, people go broke because of these higher prices. Perhaps they all know that people don't have a choice and will go for it anyway.
The funniest part is that not just a particular thing goes up, but everything goes up. Starting with the food we eat and so on.

There was a particular holiday I almost regretted going home. I was at the university then, and I needed to travel home during the festival period, a day before the festival. Going home alone, I spent nothing less than three dollars. $3
I hold onto $5 just in case of necessity, but on getting to the park, I spent the whole $5, and I'm yet to get to where I'm going—more like I'm still in the middle. The funniest part is that I do not have anything on me again.
Apart from the high cost of everything, there is still a scarcity of things we all need. I must say that I rarely even see a bus to board to my hometown. This is one more reason why everything is extremely expensive. They all know we don't have a choice, whether we like it or not. We are going to get it.

It has become so bad that everyone sees it as a normal thing to do every festival and holiday period. I've asked myself times without number this same question, what happened why is everything so cost during the holidays. I'm yet to get a good answer because no matter who I ask, they will still give me the same thing everyone says.
I asked myself if it was the high demand for the purchase of goods and services, even though things should go less than higher.
I could remember what my parents and some of our friends used to do before festival season. My parents will get whatever they want on the ground before the festival period. Perhaps goat or chicken. And so on—even pepper—they would have booked it on the ground before the so-called festival period.

They used to do this to stay away from high-cost things.
My thoughts about this are that there should be a way to stop these traditions because everyone sees them as something that is normal every year. Believe it or not, this tradition is not good because there are some who will not be able to get the goods and services. It would have been better if there's money in circulation and everyone is rich to purchase all goods, but then fingers are not equal. That is the main reason why we need to stop this tradition so that even those with less privilege will be able to get whatever they need. It's festival period, right? It is a period where everyone should be happy, so the high cost of living should definitely be eradicated.

Holidays are costly. It is difficult for everyone to be happy in this time because marketers raise prices of items which is bad indeed.

It's true, my friend, that in almost every country, every time there is a New Year celebration and Eid, the prices of goods always soar.

There should be a regulation to this. Thanks for stopping by.

As in, if only the cost of things could be normal,no matter the holiday season, I think the holiday will be more enjoyable. I can't even fathom why this particular act has become a tradition. It deprives a lot of people from fulfilling their holiday wishes and it's really annoying and frustrating.

So annoying and frustrating, but no one is ready for this conversation.

Holidays always makes the price of goods to soar as the demand for them also increases, thinning out the available supply but this also happens during poor harvest.

I thought this happened only in Ghana. I guess I was wrong. I’d like to think they increase the prices of goods and services during this season intentionally because they know most people wouldn’t have any other choice than to pay for it.

Most times, I wonder why things are mostly expensive during this time of the year, like it is done on purpose to make survival more difficult. Especially matters of transportation and whenever you ask commercial drivers about there reason for hike in transportation their comment would be "We are charging extra fee due to the festivity" something that makes to sense at all.
