My Minimalist Inspiration

Being trained by average hard working parents has made the spark of simplicity a value that I cherish so dearly. My Mom was a teacher who works in a missionary school while my Dad was an engineer in a state owned board casting station (both retired now), so both of them are big fans of minimalism, they plan ahead on a project and live a very simple lifestyle.

I grew up with the minimalist lifestyle all thanks to my beloved parents and I grew loving it till date. We all know that the first learning institution of a child is the home, so whether directly or indirectly whatever a parent does, the child will surely learn from it.

My Dad wasn't always around because he does shifting work when I was growing up, so I spent most of my time with my Mom. I remember vividly how she writes down her budget and she's always cautious of her spendings.

Mom is just so organized that she does her things in a unique way and also hates wastefulness, I can proudly say my practice of minimalism isn't driven by spatial preference but it is rather tied, it's a lifestyle that has been instilled in me right from childhood.

Life becomes very easy when you make use of scale of preference, you don't have to over work yourself all because of your needs. Once you have written down your to-do list, you are aware of your present needs and those needs that can wait till another time. So it's easier to plan and achieve your aims, though its not a crime once in a while to give yourself special treats.

But being a minimalist makes you know what to get for yourself according to your capacity, getting something simpler isn't a crime at all in as much it makes you happy.

As a lady, minimalism has helped me grow in all phase of life. I don't covet over things I see at all, I don't shop more than my space and my shopping is usually govern by my scale of preference. Buying unnecessary stuffs isn't for me at all, so my spending, my looks (what I wear) and everything I do is just so simple.

Therefore, minimalism and me are interwoven, I've lived and am still living with it and I don't think I can do away with this lifestyle because it has become part and parcel of me. Minimalism is a value I've grown with, it has taught me to be selective in my decisions and I can proudly say I'm enjoying life in my own simple way.

Your mom is such a great figure. Kudos to her.

To be honest, there is really nothing nice about excesses and wastefulness. It is quite nice to keep it simple.

I don't think I can do away with this lifestyle because it has become part and parcel of me.

When you see the beauty of minimalism it is quite hard to do away with it
