BATTLE MAGE SECRETS - Explosive Weaponry! [PT/EN]

[PT]

Meu time:

MontrosObjetivo

Hello Splinters, welcome back!

Each week Splinterlands challenges its community of players to share their battles with a certain combat rule. I never tire of saying how much this is an excellent opportunity for players to learn more and more with this challenge, because each of us has strategies and knowledge to share.

Battle rules are decisive in our strategies, we must choose suitable monsters for each situation, as they have different characteristics and can benefit in countless ways. Summoners are a very important choice as well, as the basis of our strategy can start with them.

Today we're going to talk about one of the most devastating rules, a rule that we need to be aware of in every detail!

Explosive Weaponry is a tricky rule. This battle rule can give you incredible results when attacking, but on the other hand, you need to defend yourself effectively. This rule adds the Blast ability to all monsters on the field:

Explosive Weaponry
Deals additional damage to monsters adjacent to the target monster. is equal to primary damage divided by 2, rounded up.

What should we do when this rule is active?

  • Search for monsters that have high speed. If your monsters attack first, there's a good chance of eliminating more monsters, saving you from enemy attacks, since dead monsters don't attack.

  • Having a monster in the second position that can absorb damage with the Reflection Shield skill. This skill will absorb damage and will not be affected by adjacent damage dealt by Blast.

  • Using monsters that have the Protect skill is a good option. If your monsters have shields, they will be protected from some attacks. This also goes for summoners who add shields.

  • Searching for monsters that have high dodge capacity is also effective, since if they are not hit by attacks, the monsters next to them will not be affected.

  • Monsters with good attacks is also interesting, since the more offensive it is, the more the monsters next to it will suffer damage.

Dealing with this rule is a double-edged sword: you have to find a middle ground between attacking and defending. If you don't protect yourself well, you'll suffer a lot of casualties, but if you don't pay attention to the offensive part, you won't be able to be as effective as your opponent and that can give you a defeat. You have to pay attention to these points.

Now a battle!

This was a battle in the Silver League, this month I didn't have as much time to play as I did in other seasons and I ended up dropping out of the league. The battle rule for this match is just Explosive Weaponry and it was easy for me to do well in it. However, both players only had 13 mana to use in this battle. A very low amount and each action should be thought out strategically.

Summoners

My opponent chooses to use a summoner that adds speed and shield to his monsters. I choose to lessen melee attacks. In that context, my opponent was very smart and made a very good choice for the summoner he was going to use.

My team:

MonstersPurpose
Hydra is my main monster for this battle and my tank. His speed along with his skills would be perfect to face the opponent. And best of all: at a very low cost for so many qualities.
The second monster is zero cost and is scaled only to withstand a few slither attacks while it lasts. despite stopcer without much function, it was an important monster to protect another monster that would be effective in this match.
Just like the monsters above, this zero-cost monster was deployed to protect the rear. so there will be two monsters with that role protecting the last monster that comes right after.
This is the second most important monster on my team. With such a low cost it has two magic attack, great for hitting monsters with a shield and gaining life with each attack. It made the difference in that match and added more attacking power to my team.

Round by round

In the first round, each monster performed its attack and I realized that I had an advantage over my opponent, with two attacks per turn against only one of his. Because he had shields on all the monsters, he had a good advantage over me, as I would need to perform more attacks to reach the monster's health.

He has a 2 speed advantage, but I happen to choose some monsters with good speed to excel against this obstacle caused by my opponent.

Already in the second round, despite being at a speed disadvantage, I manage to overpower his tank, and main monster, and leave him with very little life. If that happens, this battle will be practically won, since this is your main obstacle.

And we reached the last round with the battle won. It only took one attack for that to happen. Speed was a difference factor, because if the enemy monster attacked first, he would have many advantages and possibly win this match. But I thought well of every detail and came out victorious.
