Weather Report || Extreme Heat Wave In My City

The weather condition currently is like hell. I think Nigeria is singled out and is closest to the sun right now because the heat is compared to none. Imagine sweating while bathing, yup you heard me right. That's how serious the situation is In Nigeria.

I can't finish a sachet of pure water at a go but right now I can. Most times I drink too much water that my belly feels too tight and begins to hurt but my throat is still dry and I want to drink more.

Normally during the Christmas period and before the rainy season , the weather is always dry sunny and cool.
It's supposed to be harmattan season right now In Nigeria but it's not, rather it's extremely hot.
It's a mixture of both harmattan and rain. But the worst part about it all is whenever it rains , the heat becomes even worse instead of atleast cooling the atmosphere.

Unlike every other year, this year is different , I could remember when I was in secondary school and during this time of the year when everywhere was very dusty and dry.
Sometimes even tho you don't wear socks to school, the dust would help you put them on hahaha and the weather has always been cool during this period.

During this time of the year back then, I would wash my uniform in the morning by 4am and before 7am it would be dry and all I had to do was iron hahaha.
Instead of cool harmattan breeze all were experiencing now is life threatening heat.

The harmattan this year usually came once in awhile. Sometimes the weather would be extremely cold while sometimes for almost a week it would be very hot. But right now it's just too hot.

Aside from the natural heat, there are so many factors causing this severe heat wave. Climate change, Burning of bushes.
This is a major one we are facing right now, because since the weather is dry , everyone wants to burn their farmland and prepare for planting.
The heat wave is extreme over here ,there's smoke and black soot everywhere coupled with the heat
.

We barely have light over here so most people turn on their generator 90% of the day. So you can imagine the heat from all that and also from the cars exhaust.
Let's not talk about the illegal burning of kerosine and crude.

The heat wave is life threatening and we all need to work together to reduce the heat. Although the natural heat source is there, burning farmlands less could help a little bit. This is a major factor right now, sometimes in the morning it's so bad that before getting to work you're all drenched in your own sweat. Not from walking , but just because of how hot the weather is.

Get a rechargeable fan, because you need it

Wear light and breathable clothes

Always stay hydrated, because the heat can cause fainting or maybe death too

Plant trees and vegetables around your home. Or maybe some flowers

I even got some heat rashes on my neck all thanks to the extreme heat wave.

Images are mine unless stated otherwise

Thanks for reading✨🤍

I don't normally have heat rashes also but right now, the whole of my body is covered with heat rashes, which means the weather is crazy and it's unbearable.

Generators are used 90% of the day?
So fuel is burnt 90% of the day?
Looks like the situation is going to get worser

We barely have light, especially here in Bayelsa. Businesses has to go on so they need the light, imagine a frozen food shop without light for the whole day, so you have to use your Gen and the noise is so annoying.
were called generator Republic for a reason 😂😂

At this time, drinking lots of water is a must to keep us hydrated and feel some cooling down from the heat wave. We shall overcome this phase too.

I popped in here through #dreemport
