The Perks & Drawbacks In Online Education

The importance of education in today's world can not be overlooked as we must have seen what illiteracy or ignorance can cause or damage. Every way we learn something new is an educational way but there is the Education we are more intentional, spend time and finances into, to acquire them.

This type of education can be gotten either online or in-person, while there are a lot who did the in-person kind, the world has become more of online Education than the former.

With everything, comes the advantages and disadvantages, it is same for online Education. To be clear, I'm a big positive to any form of Education but I'll always prefer the online to in-person. Fortunately, can't say unfortunately, most of my education were in-person and I don't regret it but going forward, I'd rather choose online.

With that said, I'll be sharing some perks and drawbacks in online education I think are there. I must state that the perks/advantages are way more than the drawbacks and I think these drawbacks can be minimised even more for a smoother education online.

Some of the Perks I've experienced in online education.

The Availability in online education is one to emphasise on. Almost everyone could access the internet no matter where they are, there are some lacks in this but the rate is still higher. One can get educated anywhere with just access to the internet and being literate to handle it. Since it's online, a lot of persons find it easy to be available for their classes or schedules than it is with in-person education.

The Flexibility is my favourite part of online education. The fact that I could learn from home, at any time is just so cool. And there is the increased course variety where one can attempt various courses and be good at the ones they find easy to acquire. Unlike in-person education where most courses taught are in one direction, no place for varieties.

Learning online reduces costs as there will be no transportation fees, uniform, textbooks and other expenses done usually with in-person education. You also get to have more free time to go about other activities while you make good progress in your studies. There are more perks than these I've mentioned in online education.

Some drawbacks that could be experienced in online education.

Like I had said, these drawbacks are what can be minimized or eradicate totally to make online education run smoother. There are a lot of these drawbacks but my focus will on, Technical issues like no internet connection, difficult to navigate learning sites and others in this category.

There is also the feeling of isolation as one would be alone with his or her computer to get educated and not have anyone to interact with or at least get acquainted with to understand what is being taught together. This is one of the beauty of learning in-person among others but it can be avoided if two or more would be together to learn online.

What about distractions since one would be at a comfort zone to learn online, I can attest to how this is so much part of me when I learn or even work online. There are other drawbacks but not enough to say Online education isn't a way to go if one wants to.
