Her Knight In Shining Armor - Love In Action

This topic brought back a lot of memories from the past to me, things I had forgotten but were if significance when they happened then. As we have in movies, the good and the bad guy, I am definitely the good guy if this life is a movie. Why do I say so?

I can't see someone in need and not help if I'm in a position to do that, how much more for someone I have grown affection for like my family, friends and sometimes my neighbours. I've gone through things I wouldn't normally for those I love just so they can be happy or feel safe.

I would have so much to share if I were to talk about the times I've had to protect or provide for my family especially my siblings but I'm choosing to share a time I was more than just a friend or roommate to my friend some years back. Until this day, we still get in contact with each other to check on ourselves even though we're not as close as we were.

Isi, as I always call her was the one who gave me the nickname "Mhizsmiler" but that was mainly because I rarely get angry and always smiling to her stories and jokes. We didn't know each other until we were put in the same room for a one year programme and somehow we just find ourselves comfortable with each other and became friends.

Even though we were of different tribes, we had so much in common from our body sizes to our hair length to how much we love our own spaces sometimes and even love eating together. Anyone could see that we love each other with the way we live together and not even have reason to fight or quarrel.

Well, her elder brother wasn't far from us as he was doing the same program with us and so he had this elder brother watch over her. It was actually too much because I found out he hits her like a angry father would to his son (not daughter) and I wasn't happy with him about it at all.

Since I was little to him like his sister, I couldn't d confront him for him to stop being that way to his sister but instead, I decided to always be around to defend her properly in order to avoid things getting out of hand between them. One time during a misunderstanding, I explained and gave hints that he isn't acting like an elder brother would if he really loves his sister and since then, he just changed.

I still don't know if my words were really the reason he stopped being harsh on his sister but she couldn't stop thanking me for it and kept calling me her knight in shining armour jokingly 😅 if felt good but I was in fears when I faced her brother to say my mind since I wouldn't have stood a chance in a fight with him.

The rest of the year's program went even more fun as her elder brother began to act like a brother to the two of us, it felt really good and I enjoyed more things from our relationship as we continued to love each other.
