First Responders Not Responding - Firefighters Vs Their Alike

I know a lot of other country citizens will have so much to say about this topic focus - Firefighters (first Responders) because I've come to understand that they do have active ones over there unlike here in my country. Although I've seen in movies countless times when these first responders aren't really the first to respond in serious cases.

So I'm guessing it's almost same with ours over here who don't respond at all lol... Okay, maybe not same at all. It's better late than never, we would always say. But then, they are called the first responders for a reason, are they living up to their name?

As I've said, these responders are not active here but it doesn't change things so much because we have people who are like them and that is why I have on my title, the firefighters have their alike among us here in my country... People who are very fast to think in times of sudden disaster or situation that requires their quick response.

Our Nigerian parents are first on the line, no wonder they are the closest and first heroes a lot of us have before anyone else. I still can't fathom how my dad thinks so fast in situations my mind go blank about. His steps gets faster, his words becomes fast and almost not clear and his hand movements like they aren't the hands of a human.

One experience I remember from years ago was when my little Bro just fell down and wouldn't open his eyes. He was sick but dad seemed to have it under control until he suddenly fainted and dad was so quick to attend to him and he got himself back before he was taken to the hospital for proper treatment.

Another time was when I was in school and a friend of mine came around to spend some time with me. I had been feeling abdominal pains but didn't know it was not going to stop anytime soon but will instead get worse. My friend was fast to study my behaviour and before I knew what was happening, I was at an hospital taking treatment.

When a fire broke out close to my home some years back, I remember someone trying to call the supposed firefighters as he was aware of their phone lines. I was actually surprised we do have a line to contact should we fall into such situation but as expected, they didn't respond but the active men around didn't sit around to watch the whole place burn down.

If these people aren't called heroes, I don't know what they are. What amazes most is how fast they think up a solution in the chaos they find themselves, it isn't something that is easy to do. I'm sure that is why we do have people who are trained for it to have as a job, it's only sad that there are not active ones here.

My time in service camp, I was opportune to learn how to respond as a firefighter should I encounter a fire outbreak in my home or somewhere I find myself. It didn't seem easy to learn but it was quite practical and I believe it would be of help to me should I really encounter such a situation.

First Responders who are active and helping people, they are the heroes. And to me, anyone can be the first responders needed at a particular point in time. I've only had a few experiences where I witnessed first responders doing their thing like a pro even when they were not trained for the job.

This is my entry to the May Inleo Prompt Challenge with the focus on "Fire fighters, first responders, emergency" and you're invited to participate.
