Delay - When Goals & Procrastination Meets

It's still a hard thing to understand why distractions only comes when you don't need them. Or maybe they do come all the time but we fall for them when we are not supposed to. Procrastination as many say, is a thief of time and it is one thing I have been fighting since I have set goals or things to get done.

I want to believe it is natural to procrastinate when there are too much or too little to do but it is never natural when it keeps taking away our chances or opportunities in something good. I was reading a post some days ago and the author shared experience where she missed good opportunities because she procrastinated on things to do.

I've been a victim of procrastination a lot of times. While I got to do some unimportant things to satisfy my lazy self, I was missing the chances to get things done before deadlines. One thing about procrastination is that it never lets go unless you decide to do something about it.

At a point, you could actually begin to not see anything wrong with it and that is where it becomes a series of procrastination after procrastination, missing deadlines and staying comfortable with it.

I've learnt that whenever I have goals to meet, procrastination hits and it takes intentional actions from me to overcome it for me to achieve my goals. It's not easy dealing with procrastination but it is another way to stay stronger on one's goal. When I finish a goal, I find it easier to start another as I feel I can go over any storm, including the storm called procrastination.

Personally...

When I have to write an article and procrastination hits, here is what I do.

I try to think more on an idea in my head until something pushes me to start writing it. Sometimes, I put myself under pressure and it works fine. Even though there are times I give it up to procrastination as an excuse to rest for a while, I make sure to get it done wether before or on deadline.

When I have to do something else aside spending time on Hive and procrastination hits, here is what I do.

Since I have no job offline yet, most of my time is spent here on Hive and so I tend to procrastinate on other things that needs to be done offline. Sometimes, I wonder how it would look like when I get a job and have to stop by Hive too. Another reason to fight procrastination as much as I can now. Well, what I do about this is, turning off my data and setting alarms for reminder or motivation.

What do you do about procrastination if you have goals set to achieve?
And is it possible to be totally free from procrastination?
It's something I always wonder about.

In any case, I plan to continue with my goals as I keep fighting procrastination whenever it hits to avoid delays or missing opportunities.
