Mission Bay - San Diego, CA [EN/PT-BR]

Hello everyone!

I'm back to show you another flight with my DJI Mini 2. This time I went back to Mission Bay. This post will also cover a few of the main tourist attractions of San Diego.

Mission Bay is huge, it has the shape of a square with about 3 miles (5km) each side. No matter where I take off with my drone, I can't reach all of it. This time I flew up to 300m high (aprox. 1000ft) and I still can't frame all of it in one shot. This is a place where I can go back for more flights, taking off from different spots, and get many different angles of the bay. So many features to play, like islands, bridges, boats, beach, parks. Here is a map taken from google, so you can have an idea of what it looks like. You can see the spot where I took off this time marked with a red star.

Estou de volta para mostrar a vocês outro voo com meu DJI Mini 2. Desta vez, voltei a Mission Bay. Esta postagem também abordará algumas das principais atrações turísticas de San Diego.

Mission Bay é enorme, tem a forma de um quadrado com cerca de 5 km de cada lado. Não importa de onde eu decole com meu drone, ele não tem alcance em toda a baía. Desta vez, voei até 300 m de altura e ainda não consegui enquadrar tudo em uma única foto. Este é um lugar onde posso voltar para fazer mais voos, decolando de diferentes pontos, e obter muitos ângulos diferentes da baía. Há muitas coisas para explorar, como ilhas, pontes, barcos, praias e parques. Aqui está um mapa retirado do Google, para que você tenha uma ideia de como ela é. Here is a little bit of information about Mission Bay taken from Wikipedia:

Mission Bay is a human-made saltwater bay located south of the Pacific Beach community of San Diego, California created from approximately 2,000 acres (810 ha) of historical wetland, marsh, and saltwater bay habitat. The bay is part of the recreational Mission Bay Park, the largest man-made aquatic park in the United States, consisting of 4,235 acres (17.14 km2), approximately 46% land and 54% water. The combined area makes Mission Bay Park the ninth largest municipally-owned park in the United States.

This post is not easy to do as this time I took about 100 pictures, and since I don't want to make a super long post, it was hard to make a selection of the best ones, but it will still be a little big. This time I also did quite a bit of video shots, but I will need sometime to edit the video before I can post it at 3speak.

Now let's start checking out some pictures. I will separate them in parts, first let's check out some shots of SeaWorld. SeaWorld is located in the south east part of the bay, and it is one of the biggest attractions of San Diego. I know I lot of people don't like the fact that they have animals on shows, but they are doing this much less, and they have an amazing wild life rescue program. My kids love the roller coasters. I couldn't get very close to it as I was loosing signal, but you can clearly see the park.

Essa postagem não é fácil de fazer, pois dessa vez tirei cerca de 100 fotos e, como não quero fazer uma postagem muito longa, foi difícil fazer uma seleção das melhores, mas ainda assim será um pouco grande. Dessa vez, também fiz vários vídeos, mas precisarei de um tempo para editar o vídeo antes de publicá-lo no 3speak.

Agora vamos começar a ver algumas fotos. Vou separá-las em partes, primeiro vamos dar uma olhada em algumas fotos do SeaWorld. O SeaWorld está localizado na parte sudeste da baía e é uma das maiores atrações de San Diego. Eu sei que muitas pessoas não gostam do fato de que eles têm animais em shows, mas eles estão fazendo isso muito menos e têm um programa de resgate de vida selvagem incrível. Meus filhos adoram as montanhas-russas. Não consegui chegar muito perto porque estava perdendo o sinal do drone, mas dá para ver claramente o parque.

Now let's check out the Marina, and you can also see the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. The Marina is located right next to the entrance channel of the bay, in the south west part.

Here are a couple of pictures of Fiesta Island. This island takes a good part of the east side of the bay and it is the result from a lot of the digging to build Mission Bay. It's still untouched and undeveloped, but it attracts a lot of people for the sandy beaches and all the available room to play.

Next we will see Belmont Park, I already made a drone post about it, but that day was cloudy, and this time sunny. It makes a big difference. I didn't spend much time there as I did last time, but I got some cool shots. The park is located in Mission Beach, west of Mission Bay.

Hope you are not tired yet, there is still quite a few more pictures to go. Let's check out the Bahia Belle, a turn-of-the-century, Mississippi-style boat, owned by the Bahia Resort Hotel. They offer sight seeing tours on the bay, and I was lucky to see it sailing while I was flying. In the last pictures you can see the hotel. Check out these shots:

Looking north of Mission Bay you can see Pacific Beach and a little bit of La Jolla. If you look close you can see the Pier in Pacific Beach.
