Splinterlands My Journey - Social Media Challenge (ENG / DEU)

today I would like to tell you a bit about my personal Splinterlands journey and my experiences so far. Have fun reading.

How did I get into Splinterlands?

I've always played a lot on my cell phone or tablet on the side. Mostly as a little diversion in everyday life. About 1.5 years ago, my friend @ogfox discovered Splinterlands for himself and got more and more involved with the game. From time to time I looked over his shoulder and developed more and more fun with it. I especially enjoyed opening chests and packs and it became a kind of shared ritual. At some point, my friend encouraged me to sign up to Splinterlands and play myself. I was a bit skeptical at first, but quickly took a liking to the game. I've been a member of the Splinterlands community since April 2023 and have been slowly building up my account.

How much time do I spend on Splinterlands?

As I said at the beginning, games on my cell phone or tablet have always been a little distraction in my everyday life. It's stayed that way with Splinterlands. If I need a little break during the day to clear my head or want to switch off a bit in the evening, I can do that while playing the game. My goal is to get about 10 chests a day. I usually need about 10 to 20 games a day to do this, so the time I invest in Splinterlands is reasonable. Of course, there are also deviations here. If I have a lot on my plate, it can happen that I hardly play for 1-2 days or not at all. If I'm on a business trip by train, for example, I sometimes play a lot more.

What have I achieved so far?

Since I started in April 2023, I've built up a solid bronze deck. With this deck I can prove myself well in the Bronze League and achieve about 50-65 season chests every season without spending too much time. I am also part of a really good guild with @legendarydragons, in which we regularly participate successfully in brawls, there are many very experienced Splinterlands players to exchange ideas with if necessary and you always benefit from the broad network. I was able to expand my deck with a lot of cards through delegations from individual guild members. This helps me a lot both in normal games and in brawls and gave me a big advantage at the start of Rebellion.

My goals for the future

2024 will be my first full Splinterlands year. I have set myself various goals for the next few months:

Firstly, I want to expand my current deck. I want to buy new cards as well as level up existing cards. In this way, I want to put my deck on a secure footing even without delegations and at some point develop towards the Silver League. So far, I have made comparatively few investments in Splinterlands. I will increase this again in 2024, but I'm also trying to achieve a lot from the course of the game.

On the other hand, before I move up to the Silver League, I would like to finish in the top 20 of the Bronze League. So far, I've finished in the top 20 from time to time over the course of the season, but I've never been able to establish myself here. I'm curious to see if and when I can achieve this goal.

Tips for beginners

As a very new Splinterlands player myself, I can recommend two things in particular:

1. build a solid deck for 2-3 elements to start with and buy cards specifically for this. This will get you off to a good start and you can then gradually add more elements or neutral cards to this deck. In my opinion, building your deck in this way has various advantages. Firstly, you almost always have a solid deck that you can use in the various rulesets without having to use (many) starter cards. On the other hand, you can familiarize yourself much better with the tactics of your respective cards than if you have to concentrate on too many cards right at the start.

2. look for a good guild with which you can participate in brawls but also exchange ideas. This will allow you to further develop your account at various levels. In addition to SPS, you will also receive Merits from the Brawls, which you can use to purchase Gladius Cases. This gives you access to popular gladiator cards that you can't get any other way, which can admittedly be very frustrating when your opponents use them. In addition, you can either stash the PLCs you gain to increase your rewards or invest them at some point to expand your deck. You should also not underestimate the exchange with experienced players from your guild. This can be extremely supportive and help you develop your game.

heute möchte ich Euch ein bisschen was zu meiner ganz persönlichen Splinterlands Reise und meinen bisherigen Erfahrungen berichten. Viel Spaß beim Lesen.

Wie bin ich zu Splinterlands gekommen?

Ich habe schon immer viel nebenbei am Handy oder Tablet gespielt. Meist als kleine Zerstreuung im Alltag. Vor ca. 1,5 Jahren hat mein Freund @ogfox Splinterlands für sich entdeckt und sich immer mehr mit dem Spiel beschäftigt. Ab und zu habe ich ihm dabei über die Schulter geschaut und immer mehr Spaß daran entwickelt. Vor Allem das Öffnen von Truhen und Packs hat mir Spaß bereitet und wurde zu einer Art gemeinsamen Ritual. Irgendwann hat mich mein Freund dann ermutigt, mich auch bei Splinterlands anzumelden und selbst zu spielen. Zunächst war ich etwas skeptisch, habe aber sehr schnell Gefallen am Spiel gefunden. So bin ich seit April 2023 selbst Mitglied der Splinterlands Community und habe mir meinen Account langsam aufgebaut.

Wie viel Zeit verbringe ich bei Splinterlands?

Wie eingangs geschrieben waren Spiele am Handy oder Tablet immer eine kleine Zerstreuung im Alltag für mich. So ist es auch bei Splinterlands geblieben. Wenn ich tagsüber mal eine kleine Pause brauche, um den Kopf frei zu kriegen oder abends ein bisschen abschalten will, kann ich das gut während des Spiels. Mein Ziel dabei ist es täglich ca. 10 Truhen zu erspielen. Im Regelfall benötige ich dafür ca. 10 bis 20 Spiele täglich, sodass sich meine investierte Zeit bei Splinterlands im Rahmen hält. Natürlich gibt es hier auch Abweichungen. Wenn ich mal besonders viel um die Ohren habe, kann es auch vorkommen, dass ich 1-2 Tage kaum bis gar nicht spiele. Bin ich zum Beispiel mit dem Zug auf Dienstreise spiele ich auch mal deutlich mehr.

Was habe ich bisher erreicht?

Seit meinem Start im April 2023 habe ich mir ein solides Bronze Deck aufgebaut. Mit diesem Deck kann ich mich in der Bronze Liga gut bewähren und erreiche jede Season ohne zu viel Zeitaufwand ca. 50-65 Season Truhen. Außerdem bin ich mit einer der Gilden bei den @legendarydragons teil einer wirklich guten Gilde, in der wir regelmäßig erfolgreich an Brawls partizipieren, es bei Bedarf viele sehr erfahrene Splinterlands Spieler zum Austausch gibt und man immer wieder von dem breiten Netzwerk profitiert. So konnte ich mein Deck durch Delegationen einzelner Gildenmitglieder um sehr viele Karten erweitern. Dies hilft mir sowohl bei den normalen Spielen als auch in den Brawls sehr weiter und hat mir im Rahmen des Rebellion Starts einen großen Vorteil gebracht.

Meine Ziele für die Zukunft

2024 wird mein erstes vollständiges Splinterlands Jahr. Für die nächsten Monate habe ich mir verschiedene Ziele gesetzt:

Zum einen möchte ich mein bisheriges Deck erweitern. Hierbei möchte ich sowohl neue Karten kaufen, als auch bestehende Karten leveln. Damit möchte ich mein Deck auch ohne Delegationen auf sichere Beine stellen und mich irgendwann auch Richtung Silberliga entwickeln. Bisher habe ich vergleichsweise wenig Investitionen in Splinterlands getätigt. Diese werde ich in 2024 noch einmal steigern, versuche jedoch auch einiges aus dem Spielverlauf zu erreichen.

Zum anderen möchte ich, bevor ich in die Silberliga aufsteige, gerne einmal in den Top 20 der Bronzeliga auslaufen. Bisher bin ich zwar im Verlauf der Season immer mal wieder in den Top 20 gelandet, konnte mich hier allerdings nie festsetzen. Ich bin gespannt, ob und wenn wann ich dieses Ziel erreiche.

Tipps für Anfänger

Als selbst noch sehr frische Splinterlands Spielerin kann ich Euch vor Allem zwei Dinge empfehlen:

1. Baut Euch zum Start ein solides Deck für 2-3 Elemente auf und kauft hierfür gezielt Karten. Damit seid ihr erstmal gut aufgestellt und könnt dieses Deck dann nach und nach um weitere Elemente oder neutrale Karten erweitern. Der Aufbau eures Decks auf diese Art und Weise bringt meiner Meinung nach verschiedene Vorteile mit sich. Zum einen habt ihr fast immer ein solides Deck, dass ihr bei den verschiedenen Rulesets ohne den Einsatz (vieler) Starterkarten einsetzen könnt. Zum anderen könnt ihr Euch viel besser mit den Taktiken eurer jeweiligen Karten vertraut machen als wenn ihr euch direkt am Start auf zu viele Karten konzentrieren müsst.

2. Sucht Euch eine gute Gilde, mit der ihr an Brawls partizipieren aber auch in den Austausch gehen könnt. Damit könnt ihr euren Account auf verschiedenen Ebenen weiter ausbauen. Aus den Brawls bekommt ihr neben SPS auch Merits, mit denen ihr Gladius Cases erwerben könnt. So kommt ihr an beliebte Gladiatorenkarten, die ihr auf anderem Wege sonst nicht erhaltet, was zugegebenermaßen sehr frustrierend sein kann, wenn eure Gegner diese einsetzen. Außerdem könnt ihr die gewonnen SPS entweder staken und somit Eure Rewards erhöhen oder irgendwann zur Erweiterung eures Decks investieren. Ihr solltet aber auch den Austausch mit erfahrenen Spielern aus eurer Gilde nicht unterschätzen. Dieser kann euch bei eurer Spielentwicklung extrem unterstützen und weiterbringen.
