Zero Mana Addition
Today I added Scorching Fiend into my collection. I bought a regular max level even though I am only playing in silver league since it’s price per bcx was at the time lowest. I look forward to playing the card as part of the fire setup.
Ever since my addition of Torrent Fiend from the water splinter about a couple weeks ago I have used it often in water formations. The fiend stacked with Furious Chicken becomes tank sacrifices where my monsters with scavengers work well. I anticipate on Scorching Fiend playing out the same way with the use of fire splinter.
The only fire cards with scavenger is Ant Miner and Antoid Platoon. The latter only has scavenger at level six and since I play mainly in silver it limits me from using its scavenger ability. I will have to apply Ant Miners if I wanted to use scavenger.
Speaking of Ant Miners I like the combo being used in low mana matches. In fact I find that a lot of good melee monsters in fire have low mana. Specifically as low as 4 and below.
From the classics Cerberus and Kobold Miner to Untamed’s Serpentine Spy. Those are some of my most often used cards in low mana or limit mana rule set matches. With the addition of Fiend I now have an addition that fits well in these types of low mana formations.
Looking ahead I still have two of the five fiends to collect in death and earth splinters. I will be adding those fiends shortly as I am planning to transfer some of my liquidity into Splinterlands and purchasing the remaining fiends and also adding toward my Chaos collection.

The fiends are really good cards to have and I have been thinking about increasing the level on them. I think ant miners are a great card but I don't find myself using it too much. An opportunity card will just kill off that card right away so I find my skeptical about using it.
Indeed ant miners have weaknesses. I’m just trying to find ways to leverage scavenger ability in low mana matches.
That's right, one should keep making changes, it makes one's game much stronger and more fun to play.
