Splinterlands - Tournament Events 100% Profitable?
Nothing is ever 100% guaranteed and that includes the odds of winning in Splinterlands events. However after partaking in more than a handful of events this past week I have found that there are specific patterns to look out for when it comes to generating a 100% results in earnings when participating in events. Here we look at those specific patterns.
Rewarding Participants Higher Than Entrance Participants
As straightforward as the subtitle of this post is titled the main reason to earn more than you put in in any event is to make sure there are more rewards handed out than entries in the event. Simple example is if an event rewards 256 participants but only 200 join by deadline the last placed player of the event will still come out ahead. This is because the last place will get a proportion of the remaining rewards that did not go to players. In example 56 of the remaining rewards would be divided to the last bracket winners.
Why this happens is beyond me? All I know is that is how leftover rewards are distributed. I believe some players know this pattern already because I have seen some who simply enter tournaments without playing a fight and still come out ahead in earning more sps just for entering the event. Crazy...
Prerequisites in SPS Staked and CP
It’s obvious there is a major hurdle in order to take advantage to partaking in events where there are less participants than rewards. The main hurdles are having sufficient SPS staked and enough required Collection Power required to participate.
For example an Alpha only gold league event would likely require around 20k SPS staked minimum. In addition require participants to hold at least 10k of collection power in alpha cards. The latter is the more challenging part as it means players need to rent or buy specific amount of collection power in order just to join the event. Of course doing the latter would allow players who have the CP to easily pay entrance fee to join. Most often these are players who have held onto their cards the longest.
Your League Battles Standings
The entrance fee to an event is partially related to where you are at in rank battles. Players who are in diamond and champion leagues will likely not be able to join a bronze or silver league tournament without having to pay a high entrance fee. This is setup by Splinterlands n this fashion in a reef to limit players of higher rankings to corner all rewarding events. A simple example of this is 100 sps entrance fee for a diamond league player in a bronze event that was not rewards first place winner 50 sps. This makes participants of higher leagues unwilling to join n lower league events.
Conclusions
There are many opportunities in Splinterlands to earn rewards. One of the more straight forward ways is participate not in events. Play in low participation events that fit your league is best odds of earning additional rewards. Of course it’s nice t easy to do since it requires you to put in the needed prerequisites of sps staked and CP holdings. Still if you have the right numbers it’s a very easy method to earn more sps.
Until next time thanks for reading!!!

I think this type of tournaments helpful to the users. Incoming bull hopefully play to earn models again going up. I have buy some gold cards and use in my game. This project is very popular on hive.
Gold foil cards definitely lucrative when used in events. Trouble is they are very expensive relative to regular foil. !LUV !PIZZA

I think it might be profitable but I spend enough time doing ranked battles so I find it tough to set enough time for tournaments. I have seen quite a few where I might be able to break even in the worst case so it wouldn't hurt to try if you have the time though.

I felt the same way as you but some tournaments are allotted a full day to play. It’s almost like guild brawls so I can play at my convenience. !wine !PIZZA
