Splinterlands Blast Ability Subtlety



I always get excited when I learn something new in Splinterlands. Yesterday I found out in Blast that the attacker with blast will damage their opposing monster with the same damage they inflict in the attack. For example if the attack damaged the opposition’s toughness the blast will damage toughness and if attack directly damaged health then blast damage in health.

Here is the definition straight from Splinterlands about the ability:

“Does additional damage to Monsters adjacent to the target Monster. Additional damage is equivalent to main damage/2 rounded up. Snipe works well with this ability”

The definition doesn’t clearly explain but when playing matches I have finally noticed the outcome and have learned something I overlooked for many years.

Imagine using summoner like Zaku for splinter and mix it with magic monsters. The end result is heavy casualties on opposition with direct blasts from every fire monster attacking with magic.

The main reason I am looking into blast is that in water splinter we get several choices for magic monsters with blast.

The Soulbound rewards also include a water magic attacking monster with blast making it at least three potential options to add blast in water.

Bottom line mixing magic attacks with blast is have great effect since in water we can boost magic attack with Arlic which in turn increases blast damage on our opposition.

Blast is a really good ability but I kind of wish that there were more cards with both blast and bloodlust. The bloodlust would trigger from that blast ability too.

It's just the way we see that the team is also working a lot now with new updates and when a person has been working on something for so long, they have to come up with a lot of new things. It feels great when things are learned.
