Took a day off and visited my hometown

I hope you all are having an awesome day and waiting for the upcoming weekend to enjoy with your family and friends. I also decided to took a day off today from the honking city and visit my hometown so spent some good weekend time with my family and hanging out with my friends as well. I started my journey today around 8 am in the morning. First I had to take a kilometre and half of walking distance to the newest bus stop from my room, but I skipped the most of it by taking a rickshaw after getting myself on the main road. It was already 8.30 am by the time I reached the bus stand and there was quite a large line in front of me for the same bus that will teach to Howrah station. But thank God I was taking a bus cause busses in this route are really large and can fit 70-80 people easily. So, I secured a seat when the first bus came and gladly I got myself a window seat.

By the time I crossed the famous Howrah Bridge, it was around 9.10 am in the clock and I enjoying the early Morning view of the great Ganges river while getting near my stoppage which is just the the other end of the bridge. After I took of the bus, I started walking again to went to the next bus station that will take me to my hometown. Gladly, one bus with some empty seats was leaving the station, soI jumped on the bus and booked a window seat again. As soon the bus started moving and left the main bus stop and took the highway, I got a good view of the Howrah bridge from the seat and thought to click some pics to share with you all. The bridge is gigantic in size and built in British colonial era to connect the two banks of the great Ganges river, Kolkata and Howrah. The bridge is so big the containing it whole into a frame from anywhere close to it is kind of impossible. Gladly, as my bus was already quite a distance away from it by now, I got to see a whole view and also captured a quick photo. Thou the bus was moving fast and the roads were also old and with holes somewhere, the journey started getting shaky but anyhow I was able to click a steady one which I shared above.

This was another unnamed monument that I passed after a while. It looked really old and not repaired & unused for a while. It may be a structure of an d brick making factory that used to ass the smoke upwards but seems to closed now. However, this was the only structure so high in height and also the surrounding buildings were not so tall, so it could be easily visible from a good distance.

I was also talking with my wife lately to visit to the nearby beach Digha to enjoy a good time in this hell of a hot summer time. For some last weeks, our state is having severe heat waves with around 45 degree Celsius temperature and we are all having a hard time bearing the heat mixed with high humidity it is even making the situation worse. So, taking a short vacation to the nearest beach for a day or 2 would really freshen us a bit. I remember the last time we visited this beach in the last year and really enjoyed the tour, especially the evening where we spent the time sitting on the beach while enjoying a cool breeze coming from the ocean side while hearing the waves breaking endlessly just beneath us. We also enjoyed eating a lot different types of sea food, especially fishes and crabs. There are many shops just by the sea bank that fries raw fish with masala of you order and also coconut and other food items are available there. I shared one of the pictures that I took in our last trip to the beach and hopefully waiting for another trip soon.
