Look Before You Leap: CWH - Dreemport Challenge Wk 1

(Edited)

Hello everyone and welcome to my blog. I hope you all are doing great.

I believe every culture has their own unique proverbs, sayings or expressions which of course they use to either advise, caution or reprimand. Some of these sayings, proverbs have traveled far and wide to other cultures and are now used by them. I'm quite sure you can relate with this and probably have used some of them several times, I have too.

Talking about expressions that come in the form of advice, this particular one "look before you leap" comes into the picture.

Look before you leap dates back to the ancient times and is said to be based on a fable - The Fox and the Goat, written by Aesop in the 500s B.C.

You may want to read it up.

I can't even begin to count how many centuries this proverb have passed before getting to our own time, and it still holds its relevance till date.

I can't remember the number of times I've made use of this simple but life saving expression or would I say proverb, I'm equally sure that you can't remember yours either.

I know if each of us were asked to share our understanding of "look before you leap", we will have different meanings. Of course that's how it should be because although we are humans with one brain and of course two eyes, although some are challenged in this aspect, our thought processes, the way we see or view things are entirely different, that's the way it is.

It is based on this that I've chosen "look before you leap" as my topic for this CWH / Dreemport challenge for this three weeks.

Will it be easy to make a masterpiece out of it, I can't really say but all I know is that it will require deep thinking and gathering of resources.

Not only that, it is going to be thought provoking and will stir up emotions and bring back memories, and that's exactly the aim, lol. I know there are times I didn't really heed this saying in some areas of my life and I fell dip in shit, lol. I may be sharing one or two of my experiences as time goes on and may also include submissions from friends here on Hive or outside Hive, so be on the lookout for them, hehehe.

But before I wrap up, I want to ask, do you think it's actually important or would I say, necessary to look before you leap - generally?

I would love to read your answers.

Thank you for reading and like I said before, watch this space. 😅

Still the #threadsaddict 😂

I believe it's important to look before you leap. Only until you look would one knows what lies hiding, else, he might be heading to destruction

That statement abi is proverb I will call it can never be overemphasized. Another one is what an elderly sees while sitting down, a child cannot see it even when they climb an Iroko tree. Once an elderly person use either proverbs for you, just know your life is about to bend but you can still salvage it if you listen.

I look forward to what you have in store for us. See you at the end of the journey.

I do agree that the proverb can have different meaning based on Difference in individual perspective but then I believe my interpretation of the proverb is all about a caution warning for every human to not hastily jump into conclusions without careful evaluating the plan ahead.
