Road to “Cubhood”: My attainable Leo Goals for 2023 (Leo & Hodl Contest)

2022: A NEW-BORN CUB EMERGES

My journey in the Leoverse was slow and confusing at the initial stage, but later on it became educative and challenging, fun and innovative, creative and research-filled with lots of stress _{(don't blame Leo, blame ksam for all the stress he puts on himself....lol).}

By participating in various contests organised by Leogrowth, Leo & Hodl and India-leo, I began to dive deep into the Leoverse to explore, learn and understand more about this unique world. Likewise, I began to see the obvious need to stack up my Leo tokens.

My perseverance, consistency and little "wins" in these contests, alongside my Leo earnings on posts and threads earned me a spot as a Newborn Cub in the Leoverse. Put differently, I powered up over 2,000 accrued $Leo tokens in the year 2022 to become a Newborn Cub.

2023: MY STATUS IN THE CHANGING LEOVERSE

---

The year 2023 is an open book with lots of possibilities and potentials for individuals in the world of blockchain. However, the Bear market is still hitting lower lows & "rock-bottom" and no one knows when the Bull market will kick in.

This is a harsh reality which the entire system is experiencing. But, the Leoverse continues to flow with the tide; BUILDING whether during the bear or the bull markets. It keeps building and preparing itself for an amazing 2023 and beyond.

Lots of amazing features and projects are rolling out in the Leoverse and one of the Biggest is the Public release of the New Leofinance UI - the Everything App (Projectblank), in Q1 of 2023. These amazing releases and features set to add more value to the Leo token and more smiles on the faces of the holders of Leo.

Yea, more smiles to me, as a "stake-holder" of Leo Tokens, with a Newborn Cub status.

But, do I want to remain as a Newborn Cub in 2023, having same status as in 2022 without progress?

Don't I like progress?

Don't I deserve a higher status?

Or do my village people want me to remain stagnant?

BECOMING A CUB

---

Definitely, I love progress and growth, and for this reason I'd work towards improving my status in the Leoverse.

At the present moment (2022), I am a Newborn Cub in the Leoverse, with 2150 Staked LEO Tokens. However, by the end of 2023, I look forward to enjoying the status of a CUB in the Leoverse. That means that I am working towards owning between 5,000 to 14,999 staked LEO. In other words, I will work on accumulating and staking at least 3,000 Leo Power during the year 2023.

WHAT IS THE CUB STATUS?

According to @leogrowth in the post on Use cases for Discord Roles, if and when I become a Cub, these will be the privileges I'll have.

☆ I will have all the privileges of a Newborn Cub in the Leoverse:

• I will be able to Claim Leo tasks which will help the social side of Leofinance, and I'll gain some post rewards also.
• I will have the privilege of dropping a quality post on the #loud-roars channel on the LeoFinance discord server once in a month for curation.
• Whenever I participate in Leo Power Up Day, I will be eligible to win massive delegations until I get to the level of 20k Leo Power.

☆ I will also have the unique privileges of a Cub in the Leoverse:

• I will have the privilege of publishing one edition of "The Daily Leo" per month, which will increase my visibility and post rewards, as well as to help the LeoVerse.
• I will be allowed to drop two posts in a month, in the #loud-roars channel for curation.
• I will be part of the AMA warm-up show.

Interesting, right?

PRACTICAL STEPS TO ACHIEVE THIS STATUS

On the surface level, this quest seems like a Herculean task for me, however upon critical analysis I figured out the best way for me to attain this status. This way heavily relies on my active participation in the Leo Community - daily, weekly and monthly.

Since my least target for the year is 3,000 Leo tokens, I'll break down my steps to acquire this.

Monthly Requirements

To power up 3,000 Leo tokens in one year, I will be required to power up at least 250 Leo tokens every month during the Leo Power Up Day (15th).

Weekly Requirements

To have at least 250 liquid Leo tokens available for monthly power up, then it means that I should have, at least, 62.5 Leo tokens added every week to make it easy.

Actions to be taken

• Curation Reward: Curating quality content (post or threads) between 60 - 70% earns me an average of 0.025 Leo. This means, curating 40 content in a day will earn me 1 Leo. NB: Curating on Leothreads will make this easier.
• Leobounty & other curation projects: I just delegated Hive Power to @leo.voter, and I hope to earn Leo rewards from this. I also delegated Leo tokens to @india-leo and @hodlcommunity and I hope to delegate a few Leo token to @leo.voter. My plan is to ensure that I earn between 0.5 - 1 Leo daily from these curation projects.
• Author reward: I cannot be so sure of the leo reward I'll get when I write posts or threads since it all boils down to those who'd curate my content. However, I will strive to make sure I earn at least 30% of the weekly requirements.
• Contests: Participating in contests awarding Leo Tokens seem like the fast course of action to acquire Leo. However, participating doesn't guarantee winning. But, I'll strive to give my best in all contests I participate in.
• Market Buys: Market buys may constitute, at least, 30% of the required weekly required Leo. It all depends on the income from other sources, as market buys will strive to complete the figure at all times.
  • This will require keeping 1 - 2 HBD weekly for this purpose.
  • My liquid Leo on the first day of the week (Sunday) will determine how much Leo I'll purchase from the market.
• Joining Curation Trails: I have also joined the curation trail of @hodlcommunity and @leo.voter. This is also a great way of earning curation reward (with focus on Leo) with a guarantee that the curation projects manually curate quality content.
• Setting my Vote Weight Multiplier: The Vote weight multiplier is a great way to enable me enjoy my Leo Curation without affecting much of my Hive Power. Thus, setting it at 3X, it means I can curate at 25% on Hive and it will be a 75% vote with my Leo Power. This action helps me get the best of my curation even when I join curation trails.

MY DRIVING FORCE OR MOTIVATION

In the midst of the high hopes and plans, my driving force and motivation is the realization that I am Bullish about the Leofinance projects. With the improved microblogging feature and DeFi features, Leofinance is bound to grow exceedingly in the coming years.

Thus, this is a great time to take a spot in the Leoverse and participate actively as things unfold.

POSSIBLE SETBACKS AND WAYS TO OVERCOME THEM

Like I said earlier, I had to think this method through and weigh all possible obstacles and ways to overcome them.

• Difficulty in Posting Leo Content: Whenever I find it difficult to post Long Leo Content, it will give me the extra push to post more threads.
• What happens if the value of Leo Increases and becomes harder to earn? The 3k Leo minimum I chose makes it easier for me and reduces the burden on my shoulder to buy Leo in the market if it becomes difficult. Thus, I will rely on other available means of earning Leo as I discussed earlier, alongside market buys.
• Inactivity on Hive: No matter how busy I may be offline, I will still come online everyday. Hence, I will always plan a way towards achieving my set goals.

WHY 2023?

This is a very important question: why am I bothered about growing my Leo Stakes in 2023.

Honestly, I've always been bothered about growing my Leo stakes. However, for 2023 it seems there is something special that you cannot miss out, you know.

According to @leogrowth, the Leoverse has a lot in store for holders of Leotokens in the year 2023. Some of these perks include: Ad revenue, social initiatives, Gamification and NFTization. Similarly, since the new Leofinance UI is rolling out soon to the public there are social media strategies, SEO and Marketing campaigns and a parent website for the LeoVerse. In the same way, the DeFi side will also be strengthened and Leo aims to partner with other projects. Thus, with this you wouldn't want to miss the activities and benefits involved.

THE JOINT MISSION

The Joint mission is for every Lion to show forth their dedication and plans towards improving their Leo Stake. @iskafan _here really wants to acquire 100k LP within one year, but since it will be difficult for her, she has decided to pitch her tent in 10% of her dream bag. And, yes, I believe her because she has also put me in her budget (lol).

@leogrowth has invited all Lions to put forth their plans with regard to growing their stakes in the Leoverse. Yes, our joint mission is to believe in and actively participate in the Leo projects.

Thus, leogrowth has also promised some perks to the Lion's who'd do this. These perks are really enticing and you won't want to miss out.
