World Cup: Who makes it to the knockout stages?

While laughing like a kid on sugar, the entire trajectory of your mood can change the next minute and you will be caught on HD, crying like a baby. Haha. This is exactly what the World Cup does to people.

It's filled with emotions especially when your country is on the big stage.

Can you imagine what it's like to be a citizen of Qatar at the moment? They are the host of this amazing World Cup, but they are the first country that got knocked out. Their fans must have been gutted to show up only to get trashed across 200 minutes of playing Ecuador and Senegal.

That's it with Qatar.

The games that were played this day in groups G and H of the World Cup were filled with a lot of drama. We saw so many goals galore and football fans all over the world enjoyed the moments. At least, I did. Hehe. Check them out;

  • Cameroon 3 - 3 Serbia

  • Brazil 1 - 0 Switzerland

  • South Korea 2 - 3 Ghana

  • Portugal 2 - 0 Uruguay

As it stands, this is how the countries rank in groups G & H

Brazil's position in group G is not a surprise at all. These samba lads are born to excel in this round leather game and they are one of the favourites tipped to win this year's World Cup.

In the last game of the group stages, we will likely see Brazil field in an entirely different starting XI compared to the ones we've been seeing so far. It will help everyone to get a much-deserved rest and be fresh to face the knockout stage of the competition.

Look at that! I must say I'm interested in the drama playing out in this group. The Koreans had a really good opportunity to get something out of their game against Ghana.

Even a point from that game would have placed Heung-Min-Son and his side in the second position. But, it wasn't to be. The Ghanaians got the job done majestically.

As for Uruguay, I can't even hide how surprised I am about their performance. It's so weird to see them sitting unopposed at the bottom of that table. They are going down a bad road.

Well, the games we saw today are a wrap to the second fixtures of the group stages. The final games of the group stages will start tomorrow with Group A & B going toe to toe for 90 minutes. It will be exciting to see all the countries that would progress to the knockout stages.

Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop Or Comma

I just hope and pray our Africa football giant go super far, if possible bring home the trophy
I still can't express how happy i was to see the Portuguese win today... My boy's face was filled with laughter 🤗🤗

Ghana is doing a good one oo, but that relaxing mentality they always put up whenever they have a goal is what is killing them and that was why they drew with Portugal in the last game, and just take a look at how they wanted to misbehave today again

Nice update, tomorrow will be hot again

Haha... I love that. It's truly amazing. This is what football means to us. We get to rejoice and feel excitement when the teams/players we support are doing well.

As for African teams, they have been doing fairly well. Ghana seems to have so much to offer, but like you noticed, they are underrating or probably overrating teams until when it gets late.

If they start pressing from the get to, they will likely have more advantage than what they have now.

Yes for sure, but Africa is just too bias that's why they are flopping
Of what use will a man of 40 years be in the world cup, when we have vibrant 20 - 30 years old playing against them. That's why they barely go far (lies and self deceit)

Today was an awesome one, one African team has pulled through. Let's keep our fingers crossed for more to cross,🤗🤗
