Reborn Rich? | It's more like 'Dreaming Rich'... Kdrama Review.

For those of you that can afford to watch a TV show that demands a high level of attentiveness to detail, this Kdrama is the perfect Onion... And I say this with the assumption that we all know our Onion. Haha.

You have to be prepared to concentrate on every dialogue because the screenwriter gave us a very tight plot and the director did a good job of portraying the story in a way that leaves viewers with a surge of anticipation as they look forward to what the next minute will present. In addition to that, the cast is made up of tons of A-list actors in the Korean entertainment industry.

I found this Kdrama interesting, but I wasn't sure if it was interesting because it's interesting. Or interesting because it was about business with loads of stuff about global standards, investment, bank run of 2004, IMF staff and co. Haha. You see, I'm a nerd for things related to business and I fall head over heels for Kdrama. A Kdrama that digs deep into business/Finance like this one will always be captivating to me.

You get the point, right? The message I'm trying to pass is that this won't be everyone's cup of tea, especially those who get put to sleep by anything related to finance. But if you are a tad like me and you know your onion in topics about finance, you will find yourself binge-watching this Kdrama like a kid on sugar.

Before I got to watch this Kdrama, one of the things I noticed from netizens who were binge-watching it while it was being released is that so many of them mistook the core message to be 'a criticism of wealth'.

Now that I've seen all there is to see in this Kdrama, I have to disagree with that notion. What the writer did is an attempt to highlight the contrasting situation between the poor and the rich without being too dramatic. It was a job well done.

The last episode though... I think they blew that by trying to fit so many things into that episode. An additional 2 episodes would have been perfect to lay bare every plot hole and do justice to the plot beyond doubt.

That said, the writer will have to take some minus points for blowing the last episode. But make no mistake... It doesn't change anything about my rating for this show. I enjoyed every piece of it.

For the record, there is no romance in this. Haha. Don't expect any 'romantic chemistry' between the male and female lead. Okay?
